It is guidance for employees at the university as to how you should refer to pregnant āpeopleā. āBirthing personsā, instead of women etc. It is the extreme roundabout way in which they are supposed to walk around the bush and not mention the word woman or mother as to not offend any possible feelings with person X, that is eye brow raising here, and which these Norwegian doctors finds extremely silly.
Some would probably also say that it is sort of, oddly, dehumanises women, in an attempt to not offend. At least it is bizarre seen from my cultural angle.
Ok, I couldnāt read the Norwegian, but it still seems strange that theyād have a guideline and then not apply it to their website. Either theyāre inefficient or there are opposing factions within the organisation, or maybe some other explanation.
