But other than the huge eye roll, there are two big things here
- This is a strong Trump district. Something like 20 points in the last election
- There was a lot of gnashing of teeth from self-identified smart people and centrist dems over the small number of Dems who led the way on speaking about these abuses. The rationale was that “Trump is stronger on immigration than us, so dont fight him on his turf.” Yet now 12 months later we have this turn around, and that wouldnt have happened without a small number of people actually acting like their job was to stand up for what right, not just what is currently popular. There should be lessons in there, but way too few on the left or in the establishment will heed them.

Seems it has blown out a tad, especially getting upset about the EU and Canada talking.
People talking to people wont catch on in Trump world, he has to do all the talking.

Jonathan Swann this week commented that even with how extensive the reporting has been on the corruption and self dealing in this administration, he estimates we likely know only about 5% of it

The US really has become a fullblown kleptocracy at this point. Between this sort of self-dealing and the wholesale practice of regulatory extortion, I don’t think it is remediable within the rule of law anymore - certainly not if the likes of Merrick Garland are left to direct it. The scale of it makes Batista’s Cuba look clean.

This is astonishingly stupid framing from WSJ. It is one thing for them to report that people in the white house are stupid enough to have to google where Sacks stands on AI. But this is not something that needs googling. If this is what you are putting in the story about how conflicted Sacks is in that role, surely the framing is the white house is too full of idiots to know WTF is going on
Has anyone seen the footage of Mitch returning to work? Its awful. They HAVE to do something about age limits or something to prevent this sort of nonsense.

I have a lot of things to say about Sacks, but will refrain to say my true opinion, since it is not democratic and civilised but rather authoritarian and savage.
I have a strong suspicion no one in Denmark or Greenland has any idea what he is talking about.
