If that’s the reason he didn’t get picked it is daft because the last two games he played for England to help them qualify, he did very well imo.

As I said: I don’t want England to win the World Cup in 2026 (or the European Championship on home soil in 2028) because I don’t approve of the behaviour of England ‘fans’. As a German, I find songs like ‘Ten German bombers’ and ‘Two World Wars and a World Cup’ offensive to my nationality.
We Germans have a rivalry with the Netherlands. This actually stems from the German occupation during the Second World War. From 1974 to 1988 it was a purely Dutch affair; since 1988 it has been maintained by both Germans and the Dutch. Initially, an international match between Germany and the Netherlands was a high-risk affair; today it is different – it is, I would say, a ‘peaceful rivalry’. The Second World War no longer plays a role in relations between German and Dutch fans today.
In any case, I can’t bring myself to be happy for the England team if they sing anti-German songs. It’s the year 2026 (!) and the Second World War ended 71 (!) years ago today. Oh, and by the way: I’m actually a German with migrant roots, as my parents are from Sri Lanka. And although I’ve experienced xenophobia and racism in my life, I feel thoroughly German through and through.

I don’t understand Tuchel’s thinking, why doesn’t he rate Trent-Alexander for England? He is not doing that bad at Real Madrid.

I understand the Maguire thinking. He’s played well since Carrick came in but has been playing once a week it’s not great preparation for the World Cup.
I know they are gutted but tone down the “disgusted” Tuchel hasn’t murdered him. I wouldn’t have chosen Toney and has Trent been playing well, Spence is an odd one and you feel it’s Anderson or Wharton and the winner is Anderson there.

Tuchel is a rebel and doesn’t give a shit and he has shown it here. Spence is the only strange one but probably judged on his England performance whenever he gets to play rather than the Spurs ones.

Burn, Madueke and Spence are questionable inclusions for me but beyond that not overly surprised. Gibbs-White probably the unluckiest to be excluded.
Ultimately makes fuck all difference who the fringe players are, England have no chance of winning.
I am absolutely delighted for Jarell Quansah, and thoroughly amused by the outburst from Maguire, his family, and his fans. What a circus!
