my account got hacked. They’re shite
To be expected really.
Little creativity in that midfield and in fact the squad. Left all the players with guile and creativity at home and opted for athletes primarily.
Bringing on more athletes against an athletic team predictably wasn´t effective.
I don’t think he really has - much as I enjoyed mocking him at Spurs, I have to credit how hard he works on his game and the underlying intelligence. His positioning has been superb for years, particularly in the space about 25 meteres out from goal. He is not a brilliant natural athlete, but he makes himself phenomenally hard to cover, and has clearly worked on the really simple stuff like shot technique from a turn. There are loads of strikers far more naturally gifted who have fulfilled much less of their potential.
Kane is actually a player I have told developing strikers to watch carefully to observe what to do. I think at Bayern, he has been in a framework that is able to use that to full advantage, but it was there years ago.
Now, if he would apply the same diligence to his diction…
I am rather surprised at you. He has a speech impediment and mocking someone for it is cruel. I had someone close to me who lived his whole life with a speech impediment. It caused him pain and embarrassment and he never fully learned to cope with it.
This is an Englandcentric response to I’m bringing it to this thread…
Sure the whole point of this approach is that it is difficult to break down and create against, but you can still critique the way an opposition goes about the task of trying to do that even in the context of not expecting it to create many clear chances. England’s approach to that challenge was poor.
The thing is though I don’t think Tuchel will be losing sleep over it. Gordon and Anderson were not the right selections for this sort of challenge and when you see how lackluster the response to Ghana’s challenge was it is understandable eyes would start turning to some of the more creative players on the bench or even those left at home. But I imagine Tuchel believes it isn’t games like this, against sides who play like this, that will provide the defining challenge to England at this tournament. I imagine he has been far more focused on what it will take to get past a Spain or Brazil and it’s against sides like that who will expect to have a lot more of the ball and play more on the front foot that some of these selections seem better suited for.
Henry tells the story of talking to him a few years ago and planting the seed that while his goal record is unimpeachable he should consider if he gets enough assists. Most goal scorers would just shrug that off. Kane took that on board and started working on how to add that to his game. Humility is a probably a strange word to use to describe someone who publicly has been so focused on his own accomplishments as Kane comes across, but someone with Kane’s lack of obvious gifts doesnt become as good and as well rounded as he is without the humility of understanding how much he has to work on and doing the hard work to develop those traits.
Does he actually have a speech impediment? Didn’t realize, I thought it was just a particularly thick accent.
Wow so now you are mocking regional accents as well…

He has a slight lisp.
I have not heard him that much, I tend to avoid listening to most interviews.
