England National Team

Palmer is the one who surprises me, because at his best he can be effective in the counter-punching style that Tuchel seems to have in mind for the pointy end of the tournament. Palmer is far up enough the field that defensive characteristics are not key, which is why Foden and Trent were not in the mix.

I do think that had he known what his choices would end up being at right back at this stage of the tournament, he would have taken Trent. Mexico will be targeting Spence after what they saw versus Congo.

Well and he can open teams up as he´s clever. He just gives you something totally different to what England have.

Yeah. I mean, Mexico isn´t full of superstars. Spence should be reasonable enough to handle them, but yeah it´s not ideal.

I think QuiĂąones is going to give Spence a much rougher ride than Cipenga did - and Cipenga had Spence struggling.

Could be the case but QuiĂąones isnt a great player or anything.

Spence faces much better every week in the PL

It finishes at 3am, unless it goes to ET and/or penalties, so why would you even bother going to bed for 1 hour?

You’d be better off snorting some instant coffee (yes, I have seen one of my brothers’ mates do this when he get scheduled to work NY Day many years ago) and powering through the day.

You would never get people doing that in Germany. Mainly this is because the word for sick note is Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigung and if you can actually pronounce that, there is clearly nothing wrong with you.

I’m not sure if that link worked for me. I got a clip of Sylvester McCoy playing the spoons on a Dalek.

Jarell Quansah is set to start for England at right-back in tonight’s World Cup last-16 tie against Mexico.

Bukayo Saka and Anthony Gordon are also expected to come into the side in place of Noni Madueke and Marcus Rashford.

Quansah plays ahead of Djed Spence who has complained of a muscular niggle.
