Since 2018, England had enough players suitable for building a Klopp-sque team, yet Southgate and then Tuchel both decided to embrace haramball instead.
Fast wingers, strong full-backs, physical midfielders, plus an elite striker… could have embraced Klopp football, which would have won England at least an Euro (2021).
Absolutely gutted England were near, yet so far. They tried their best.
I am so very proud of boys. They need our support right now.
As soon as we lose a major World Cup match, we want the manager gone. How many managers before Tuchel suffered the same fate. It is not fair on the manager. We are too harsh.
It is our fault for putting too much pressure on our players, the manager and putting them on the pedastal.
Gutted but angry also at the way we limped out, the players need to look at themselves and grow some balls, they were pushed back to easily and lacked conviction to keep the ball.
No love from me, they get paid a fortune to produce the goods!
It is not fair on the England team. Trying to win a World Cup is not easy. You also need luck on your side. Some decisions don’t go your way due to an incompetent referee, VAR or hitting the woodwork for the 19th time.
With the money that has been pumped into the game in England, compared to most other countries, makes under-achieving all that more pathetic when post analysis scrutiny is looked at.
To me, there were too many England players in the squad with feelings of entitlement, which by default, leads more to strutting around the pitch like a peacock, rather than tearing it up and getting into the faces of the opposing players…
Well, if the England fans thought it was coming home this time, they will have a long wait before it actually does once Jurgen gets a grip on the German team..! All bets are off now.
I didn’t have any real hopes of winning the trophy. I felt there were always going to be several sides ahead of us. I think reaching the semi was a very creditable achievement. Once they get over the disappointment, the players should be very proud of what they achieved. Tuchel will learn from it…
