England National Team

Id say the last tournaments beg to differ

And winning the CL with an English club is significantly more likely than with a German club.

You’re right but then I suppose it could be said that Kane is going to be finished soon as a top striker and without him things look a bit less rosey.

As well as Stones being done

Trent to be back in the fold but otherwise we aren’t exactly stacked with young talent it could be said

Worth nothing without the proof of being able to bring it over the finish line :see_no_evil_monkey:

We were talking last 30 years. Bayern won 3 since 2001. How many do we have? ManU? Any other?

Just had a quick look at the odds (Tipico) for next season and Bayern are second favorites behind PSG.

Well you need to first get to the final stages…

English teams have 10 champions leagues in the last 30 years.

German teams have what, 4?

Not even close.

What might have been, with a more attacking approach against Argentina. And Saka playing.

Fair play to the lads. Putting 6 past the French in any match is no mean feat.

Don’t forget quite a few youngsters and at the head of them A certain Ngumoha.

They just beat the tournament’s favourite at the start, that’s basically deserving of a world cup win in it’s own right.

Djed Spence might just be the best RB…and LB world football has ever seen.

Saddest thing is and I actually think this is true. Shown a bit more guts and courage like that against Argentina and you’d be in the final later today.

Keeping Kane on, sticking as an outlet O Reilly instead of the obvious choice in Rashford. The latter might be shite at finishing but he has that ability to break quick.

He’s a Gerrard-very-lite

For me he’s the typical English midfielder. A fairly tidy runner and maybe an all rounder but doesn’t excel at anything in particular. It also makes it tricky to pair him with somebody because you kinda have to play all rounders with no exceptional abilities with other all rounders. Like Liverpool has been doing.

Gerrard was an all rounder but such a freak that he was unbelievable at so many things. More than any player ever. We will never see that again.

Do you think Souness was better than Gerrard ? Never got to see Graeme in the flesh but literally everything I hear seems to say so.

I think Souness was much better defensively than Gerrard and had a better range of passes to his game..

Was a bit before my time Souness but I remember being very surprised how much of an artist he was on the ball.

Much better controller of games than Gerrard with the ball ( Gerrard was too all action for that and lacked the patience imo), working the ball around, spraying it and between the lines. But Gerrard was obviously other worldly in the final third and way more dynamic. Top passing range too.

I think Souness would be the best midfielder in the world now, assuming he could control his temper and had the conditioning.

When he makes controversial comments and people wade in on social media I often see Mancs and fans of other clubs say nah he was the real deal and world class.
