Your forgetting one thing. I thought it was a penalty in today’s modern football, those are given all the time. It was crap defending to get put in that position. He made contact, Sterling went down.

Now I actually don’t think all contact is a foul or penalty but this is the modern game. The players know it.

As regards you being Scottish, I love Scotland and the Jocks but forgive me for being a bit sceptical over your ability to be Impartial with regards to a decision going England’s way.

Yes it was, sorry but that’s my opinion.

And that’s fair enough. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Clear foul, ref gave it as a penalty on first viewing and retained that decision on review. Clearly would have been deemed a penalty fairly often, let alone in a million years.

Didn’t think it was a penalty but I still think England scores, I don’t think Denmark would have held on to be honest.

I know what you mean but in today’s game that’s a penalty. No ifs or buts. You can’t touch a player in the box.

I find it funny that England is the only country to get vilified for celebrating a bit of success.

Nobody touched him.

Has Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” became an England Football team song?

Quite obviously wasn’t a penalty like, can’t believe anyone thinks it was.

I think so, for this tournament. I would say more so than 3 Lions song. The Neil Diamond song is such a lively feel good sing a long anthem for everyone.

Didn’t see pen decision live, saw replay, didn’t look like a pen. He’s falling before leg gets stuck out.

Also one of those ‘did he touch him there?’ a couple of times when watching on slow mo replay, so understand why it wasn’t overturned. One of those just go with what ref decided, if ref hadn’t given it, it would not have been given on replay either. But very weak, if against us I’d be upset.

Thought Saka wasn’t quite at it. Clever movement, but heavy touch throughout game, never really got going. I think also Phillips weakest game, I think he started poorly but improved as game progressed.

Pickford had a shocker, thankfully it didn’t cost us. Southgate clearly told him at half time to just boot ball up field and keep simple, and he did from their on out.

Well, the better team won but they really didn’t play all that well. I couldn’t believe that the commentator was praising Kane. I thought he was distinctly average, and that’s when he was involved in the game which wasn’t often enough. As ever, Walker didn’t offer anything going forward. Is it a rule with Southgate’s England that if one full back goes forward the other one can put his feet up?

Of course, I’m very glad that England have finally made it to a final, but to beat Italy we’ll need the same or more luck we got with an OG and a dubious pen scored on the rebound FFS. And that pen was dubious. As far as I could see there was minimal contact, if any, from the first defender, and by the time the second defender made some hip contact Sterling was already turf-bound.

EDIT: Oh, and Pickford’s a liability. He looks a nervous wreck whenever he has to pass or throw the ball out.
