Vargas ( Switzerland ) misses from the penalty spot.
Omg that was dreadful.
Well…this fucking sucks…
Sad for Sommer
So many bad penalties.
Sommer countless saves in the match…2 pen saves…let down by his team mates big time
Should not have tried fannying around with the pens…just smash the f*****ing thing…and I hope most of the Spanish get the trots…but not Tiago.
Posession matters shit. Upto the sending off, Switzerland were the better side
Not on my tv , Switzerland sat back defending Spain attack attack attack.
Thiago went to Sommer too. Class act!
Well… that was a bid hard to take.
First being played off the pitch during the first half, after a very unlucky selected goal against, and losing Embolo to injury.
Then, adapting to the game, pressing higher and coming back very logically, with a good goal from Shaqiri… At that point, I thought that we had a chance to win it in regular time. The team was in the game, and Spain showed sign of tiredness and nervousness.
But then, Michael freaking Oliver decides to come up with one of his trademark lunatic decisions, out of the blue, completely twists the game by sending off Freuler, and sends Switzerland back in the ropes.
Despite of this blow, they somehow manage to get to extra-time (which seemed to last forever), get to the penalties,… and then manage to blow their unique chance in spectacular fashion after the two Spanish misses… you couldn’t make it up…
Oh well,… congrats Spain and good luck for the upcoming challenges, but Lady Luck was definitely on your side tonight.
I almost stopped watching it at that point but the suisse kept going. 1 half of extra time though and I was done so thanks for the ending.
Really annoyed with the Swiss. Low, hard, and into a corner; thought they knew the basics of penalty.
I guess they were just too tired after having pushed Spain onto the ropes. The red card just killed it for them when Soain looked a lot more tired than they did.
Just noticed that there was no thread for this until now. Here it is, and hop Scotland, here comes the revenge for the battle of Culloden!
(Joking of course, but I’ll root for the smaller and much more likeable team tonight. Hup Robbo and co, and sorry Hendo!)
A mate down there says there’s been loads of trouble from the Scotland fans
Come on Robbo!
Don’t see Scotland getting a result.
Both Lovren and Maguire are back fit and training in this group, we’ll see when they return to start for their sides. Maybe today.
