I’d agree with this, he picked a side today that fit together and did the job it was expected.

If Foden had scored I expect the game would have been better but it’s a bit of an unpredictable one, not on the standard of Group F but Scotland will be up for every game and have enough quality to cause issues (personally I think they have more than that Welsh team).

Know nothing of the Czechs mind.

Did anyone see Kane’s ad for Hugo Boss?

“A modern gentleman is always elegant”.

Look forward to that. :slightly_smiling_face:

Fair play. Southgate got a win.

Not too sure about the Trippier experiment at left back, especially so when Chillwell or Shaw (to be fair, since cutting out the pies, he has started to fulfil his early promise) are available.

Reminds me too much of Keegan with his Phil Neville experiment.

The original comment just said major tournament. :man_shrugging:t2:

On of the highlight games of the tournament, with two of the favourites.

I wish this would hurry up, I’m looking forward to seeing some football on my tv. I’m getting sick of Netflix, then again my enthusiasm will probably only last 5 minutes and I’ll get back to Netflix in a jiffy.

I’ll never forget this match. Will always support France against Germany because of it.

I am going to support Germany, but that’s because I frankly love their form of football.
That, and various characters on the French team that I have a hard time liking.

May the best team win, and let it be Germany !
Probably the biggest game of the Group Stage this I reckon.

Brilliant player.

I wonder how many times Schumacher’s assault on Battiston will be shown in the build-up tomorrow?

Like who? (10 more characters).

Top of my head is Benzema.

Benzema is a wonderful guy, great footballer. I didn’t like Valbuena (sp?) but he’s not there.

Maybe he can be, but I found what he did to his team mate unforgivable and I would not let such a person play for the country anymore. If only half of what has been written in the media is correct, it is absurd to me that he gets to play for France again. And then he claimed he was excluded due to racism, another slight that should count against him ever being allowed back again, as it shows he has questionable ethics and no self awareness to speak of.
But sure, maybe he can be a nice guy. But what he did those years ago, too awful. He does not deserve to play for France ever again imo and when they so play him I want them to lose (unless they play against Turkey or Azerbadjan or something far worse like that). If Benzema had gone to prison, served time, then I would have no problem what so ever with him. But he didn’t.

Le petit Caîd.

Why should someone not found guilty go to prison or be banned from playing football. This is what I don’t understand.
His exclusion was a political move by politicians the FFF petitionned in his favor. It really was to punish the idea of the Caîd from the ‘quartiers’. Just look at the press Mourad Boujellah got/gets. Whether you like it or not there’s other agendas at play.

As far as I know, he admitted that he arranged contacts with some gangster friends of his so they could press his team mate for money. From the top of my head, I can’t think of anything much worse that a footballer of international note have done; and when he then was removed from the team he claimed it was due to the coach being racist. Not something I can defend and I believe he should have payed for it in a way he absolutely didn’t. He showed no remorse, his racism charge just made everything far worse.

Some international footballers don’t pay taxes.
I’m not going to argue with you over this you have your opinion I have mine. At least your not denying the political involvement.
I just think Benzema is too good a plyer to be hiding/hidden away. That someone says something stupid particularly if they are from a quartier of Lyon doesn’t surprise me at all and I don’t think should count that strongly agaist them. I’m sure if that were the case many of us would have been ostricised many times over.

I’m just looking forward to the match and will be teasing you each time France score.

Don’t worry, I’ll enjoy good French play ! I just want Germany to win, lol !
And yes, it is political due to Benzema, or maybe you could say cultural (as what he did is unacceptable culturally for me, when he pays no price for it).

He’s up in court in october I think but the case doesn’t look strong, in fact many think it shouldn’t have got that far.
If he is condemned then there is an arguement for banning him. He just hasn’t been so I think with out a decission from the justice it’s harsh to ban him yet he has been banned for 6 years and not by the FFF.
