I wonder why Norway, Finland, Switzerland and Austria haven’t been awarded hosting rights. They have the pandemic well under control.

It’s one of the dumbest tournaments ever hosted. It’s a make up year from last year’s cancelled one and being hosted at the two poles of a continent. It’s not just distance, although their capitals are 4,000 miles apart (for perspective, that is twice the distance of London to Moscow), but that it will be 2 completely different climates.

Is it cancelled yet?

So, any words on venue and fixture confirmation???

England without Trent is nothing.

Forza Liverpool!

Think they’ll need more than that if they intend to win the tournament.

Unless they’re Greece in disguise.

Hazard and Origi have played the same amount of time this season. At least Origi is not made of glass.

Didn’t expect Origi after the season he had especially and with Belgium’s options up top. They’d probably swap at least two of those strikers for a left footer LB/LWB.

Even when he had some decent game time with us, he was always basically Belgium’s 4th or even 5th striker (if we count that Mertens can play that role as well).

Of his 29 caps, 13 game in 2014 when he had his breakthrough. Since then, he only managed 16 more throughout 7 years.

I know Origi doesn’t deserve a call-up. I’m just surprised that Hazard (Eden) got one.

Why, he’s fit and their key player, or one of for sure. Needs rhythm, who knows if he finds it, but he surely only needed to be fit on paper to go. As for the rest, they’ll see what they can get from him.

How can we create a tournament that is bad for the planet and bad during a pandemic.

Here you go…

Looks like France have recalled Benzema.

Don’t know what has changed over that stance, we’ll see if journalists can find out something, if Deschamps/FFF don’t say much.

That’s spineless. He absence was never because of football, but for moral reasons. He’s had a great season, but this is the equivalence of saying you have standards only to walk away from them when they become inconvenient.

FRANCE

Goalkeepers: Hugo Lloris (Tottenham), Mike Maignan (Lille), Steve Mandanda (Marseille)

Defenders: Leo Dubois (Lyon), Benjamin Pavard (Bayern), Raphael Varane (Real Madrid), Clement Lenglet (Barcelona), Presnel Kimpembe (PSG), Jules Kounde (Sevilla), Kurt Zouma (Chelsea), Lucas Hernandez (Bayern), Lucas Digne (Everton)

Midfielders: N’Golo Kante (Chelsea), Paul Pogba (Manchester United), Adrien Rabiot (Juventus), Corentin Tolisso (Bayern), Thomas Lemar (Atletico Madrid), Moussa Sissoko (Tottenham)

Forwards: Antoine Griezmann (Barcelona), Kylian Mbappe (PSG), Karim Benzema (Real Madrid), Olivier Giroud (Chelsea), Kingsley Coman (Bayern), Ousmane Dembele (Barcelona), Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco), Marcus Thuram (Monchengladbach)

Germany bring back Muller and Hummels. I think that is a pretty brave but sensible decision. The moving on to kids thing hasnt worked the way he wanted so why continue to overlook two senior pros who can just slot back into the group and perform as if they had never left? The youth project can continue with the next guy at the start of the next cycle.

Goalkeepers: Bernd Leno (Arsenal), Manuel Neuer (FC Bayern), Kevin Trapp (Eintracht Frankfurt)

Defenders: Matthias Ginter (Borussia Monchengladbach), Robin Gosens (Atalanta), Christian Gunter (SC Freiburg), Marcel Halstenberg (RB Leipzig), Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), Lukas Klostermann (RB Leipzig), Robin Koch (Leeds United), Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea), Niklas Sule (FC Bayern)

Midfielders/Attackers: Emre Can (Borussia Dortmund), Serge Gnabry, Leon Goretzka (both FC Bayern), Ilkay Gündogan (Manchester City), Kai Havertz (Chelsea), Jonas Hofmann (Borussia Monchengladbach), Joshua Kimmich (FC Bayern), Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), Thomas Muller, Jamal Musiala (both FC Bayern), Florian Neuhaus (Borussia Monchengladbach), Leroy Sane (FC Bayern), Kevin Volland (AS Monaco), Timo Werner (Chelsea)
