Apparently they want to offer him a new contract, nice excuse if they go out is they can say it’s Germany.
And a side that will probably make the final due to the draw if they win.

I’ll always support the England football team, maybe just a fan of the perennial underdog that’s chances are blown out of all proportions. In the words of Gary L, footballs a simple game. 22 people kick a ball around for a couple of hours then the Germans win on penalties.
What I woildn’t give for “4-0 even Pickford scored” Or similar.
Is that one of our posters here?
It’s coming home, so it seems.
Nope.
I can see an England
Quite possibly in the final against the Italians, but in the semi would be just as funny to see
No chance. Denmark will win this, because my eldest son has got them in the family sweepstake. He always wins.
He’s got Italy in the school one.
It’s difficult to support a team containing Kane, Sterling, McGuire and, especially, Pickford.
Can’t wait until Liverpool start playing again
I think Prickford is the hardest one, can’t give him any praise at all the rest I’m no longer that bothered about.
Make a racket?
Denmark is surviving on pure emotion. Player for player, not even close to the strength of England, as far as manager goes, not sure. I England will make it to the next round easily, but against Italy or Spain, Southgate will line his team up to their tactics which I have alway found to be a very negative approach. I always prefer the strongest team and let my apposition worry about my lineup.
Henderson needs to start, a real leader that has actually won things needs to be in this team, controlling the flow of the game.
Hjulmand is a better manager than Southgate, by a distance, but who isn’t.
I suppose Southgate has done enough to justify sticking around for the next tournament, regardless of how this/the final goes, but you do have to wonder - is there any Premier League team that would take him?
It really is such a talented young group of players. Really breaks one’s heart, doesn’t it?
That is a ridiculous statement. I really don’t get the hate from a vocal minority on here for Gareth and the England players. He seems like a perfectly decent guy doing a great job even if they lose on Wednesday. I admire him for the way he has brought the young players through.
Getting England to two successive semi finals is no mean feat given recent history…but I guess it is the nature of haters that they will always find reasons to hate.
Was there a lot of animosity on these forums towards Southgate before our Henderson missed that pen in the friendly, and Southgate threw him under the bus?
Genuine question.
There is a lot of animosity on these forums towards anyone who manages or plays for any other club…so what?
Some fans aren’t happy unless they can be outraged about something.
No, he does not, he should stay on the bench for the rest of the tournament and go on vacation.
Noway should Henderson play for that England team at all, no need to put him in danger of that nervous wreck Pickford for anything.
The French commentators after long and thoughtful discussion came to the conclusion that that idiot Pickford is shouting at himself as it’s the only explaination for him to be opening his mouth so much.
Thought he was a bit meh, and overhyped on the basis of a piss easy run to a semi-final.
But his snide shit with Hendo revealed a nasty self-serving side to him. Definitely affected my view of him.
Hup Denmark! I’d love to see them re-editing their 1992 exploit!
I’ve always said some managers work better at national team jobs and some work better for the club sides.
Some can cross the divide like Mancini but Peter Taylor for instance was one excellent U21 manager but sucked at club level.
I immensely dislike the laddish oy oy culture that comes with the English football team. Even a podcast that I listen to Football Ramble started doing a semi ironic Eazay chant recently.
Having said that, wouldn’t mind seeing this English team win the Euros. I don’t think Denmark has enough on paper and motivation can only take you so far. Plus Spain and Italy are boring af.
