Sorry I didn’t watch the game he might have to avoid going to Prague for a bit then Joking apart he was not very good he kept wielding that card a bit too often the players from both sides also helped to wind him up.
I like the group phases and lose interest entirely once we get to the knockout phases. I’d prefer that only the 1st placed teams go through from the group with 2 “best loser” spots.
Or the 6 group winners go into a second group stage, two 3-team groups. Winner of each group play in the final.
I just like the multiple games in one day aspect. As soon as they hit one game a day I lose track of it.

I tend to agree I quite like the football festival aspect.
Don’t mind the last 16 with 2 games a day but it gets a bit dull after that.
You could have groups of 3 that might allow for some expansion but not over expansion.
16 would knock several last 16 sides out who deserve their place in the second round.
Only way around it would be to have a second round of none group winners.
Maybe the third place teams battle it out for 3 places in the last 16 but you’d be extending the tournament.
English pundits always rattle on about who should be in the team, but never say who should be dropped. They would then fume about whoever is dropped (Saka, Foden, Jude?) to accommodate who comes in. Or do they think they can start with 15?

Barton is now questioning embolo’s decision to not got for the ball on that rebound because, according to him, he wasnt actually offside as the flag still hasnt gone up. He needing to be informed that he was only not offside because he chose to not go for the ball. Proper expert analysis here.
