Ex-player: Naby KEITA

I think that’s pretty much where I’m at. 1500 minutes across all 4 competitions is his average for the last few seasons.

Seriously? and some wishing bad things on him.

Going back to what I said about believing everything on social media…

according the Paul Joyce, Nabby leaving in the summer.
I say get rid in Jan if poss.

I believe he said that Keita and Ox are out of contract and likely to leave - which I think most people assumed. It didn’t read to me like he was saying there had been any change to the situation that we didn’t already know.

Yeah there’s literlly nothing new in that article apart from the plan that we want to extend with Jones.

But I believe Keita and Ox will be off next summer and it’s the right thing to do.

Groundbreaking stuff, Cheers Paulie.

He’ll be like a new signing when he returns in December.

And then again in March and in May.

Looks off the pace and needs 6 months to learn the system?

Agree with this, but I’d prefer if he went this winter already. He plays well when he gets on the pitch as you say, but that happens lesser and lesser, so I’d say that if the club can cut ties with him earlier than next summer, it will be all the better for everyone. He brings literally nothing to the plate this season, so it will be better for him to find himself a new club asap.

Of course, the club won’t recoup a dime in terms of transfer money for him, but at this stage, that will be the least of their concerns.

That’s more up to the market than to us. Plus, a little part of Klopp will still believe that them two can be useful at times for the rest of the season, we’re still in all 4 competitions. I don’t see anyone paying a fee for them two, when they can start talking with them over a free transfer next summer.

Yeah, agree. Nobody will be willing to pay the same wage to Naby than we do. So, he’s necessarily bound to stay until his contract is up. We’ve already had this with other injury-prone players. All in all, the Naby and LFC story will stay in our minds as a really unfortunate one.

How soon can you sell if you sign someone on a new contract? Might the club be looking to recoup at least 20-25m for him? He’ll turn 28 next year, so still has 1 big contract left in him. Maybe if he can get a run of games in cup matches or so, then the club reckons they could turn profit?

I think the window for getting any money back for him is gone, if not legally at least practically without offering him a new contract, which we surely wont at this point. He will be able to sign a deal with non-prem teams likely before he plays his next game for us.

So May, then.

Just off to check if Naby really did play the minimum 50 games

What a player he should have been for us.

Is he injured again? Or is this a belated realisation that he can’t manage our training regime.
