I guess being an a pretty good player, a full Welsh international at a young age and yet know the chance of being a first team regular starting eleven is very low would prompt conversations for Neco to start looking at lesser clubs for a starting position. And with what he has shown, there is no reason to not believe he can make it elsewhere especially in the mid table to lower table PL clubs or even in Championship clubs who have ambitions for promotion.
For us, of course, for selfish reasons, it would be great to keep him. Getting a good enough backup who is willing to sit on the bench without complaints and balancing the financial part of things is always awkward. But if Neco leaves, while having Gomez and Conor is not the best of options for RB, but I think most will agree that there are other positions in the team that needs more attention even if Neco leaves.
Played there a few times under Wenger. Quite Quick, can play similar to Trent with the deliveries into the box. Good footballer, will be dodgy defending but better option that a 35/36 year old Millie and Gomez
Wouldnāt put much stock in who Pearce thinks Klopp is going to be playing at right back next season, thatās just him adding his own twist onto the story about Neco. I actually think Pearce has name dropped Gomez there because he knows itāll increase engagement on twitter/the Athletic with people going mad.
Bradley is a decent prospect, Milner is a better option than Williams anyway, and Iām also in the camp that thinks Chamberlain is worth a go.
10 million for him would be great business for all involved.
I think Gomez at Right Back is a licence for the lad to put in a transfer request. I would in his shoes - expecting him to run the line with his record is pretty negligent.
Ox has experience playing there and could be a decent cover option on the right and left. And he needs the minutes.
And he probably isnāt good enough to be in the middle of midfield anymore. He left Arsenal because they kept shifting him to RB but hopefully he would understand his place thesedays.
Maybe offer Clyne a short term contract? He is released right. But I still donāt see a replacement as priority in Klopps mind even if Neco leaves unless an option that is compelling that he must which is hard to see for a backup option
Neco (Iād like to keep, can improve but he seems to want out which is understandable).
Oxlade (If he turns up his nose at this surely itās the door, not much us elsewhere especially if we buy a new centre mid). Seen JĆ¼rgen play him in the Bobby role off the bench at times which is a nice position and change from Bobby if needed. Wouldnāt mind him playing in the F9 and at RB. Has played here before.
Millie (Will play here but his legs are gone, will get skint time and time again to be honest). (Canāt expect him to keep giving us dig outs like this).
Fab/Hendo (Both have done it in the past but canāt lose them from the middle).
Joey G (Not attacking enough and with full backs so important to our game we canāt afford much of a attacking quality drop).
On paper, we donāt really need a new right back replacement. Even though Conor Bradley has made his international debut, I still feel heās too lightweight and young for the step up.
