We got 35m for him, and let him ‘lose his legs’ elsewhere.
On the other hand, Bayern haven’t handled him well and the fact that they want to get rid of him is probably less because he has lost his legs than some personal problems between him and other players or staff.

A lot were in this camp and if he’d still have been a Liverpool player today and you were, let’s say one of the minorities who stated they would’ve sold for him for around what we paid for him…you’d have been slaughtered for it.

Mane wasn’t washed up post Liverpool. He just wasn’t getting the service he required to score.
I was also disappointed when we sold that young lad Hoever.

He still looked great in the season before he left and I’m sure he would still be our second best attacker last season and we would’ve reached CL with him.
Funny that after 8 years some still don’t understand that it’s our club + our manager making players better and not understand why former players like Emre, Divock, Gini, Taki and Shaq fall off a cliff after leaving.
Does anyone really think Salah would still be scoring 30 goals a season had he left two years ago?
Kind of expected what happened to Sadio. He needs to feel loved and Bayern was clearly the wrong club for that.

Mané was the perfect player for LFC and Klopp. He was always going to struggle to find the same kind of environment elsewhere.

Yeah, £27.5m initisl fee and the rest in add-ons. That’s what was reported then. We’ll likely have recouped something like £30m or so, which isn’t too bad to be fair, given that he has turned out to be a dud for them.

If (when) Sadio accepts Saudi riches, he will join the long list of sell-outs.
Disagree on this one old bean. Sadio earns for an entire village so that money is going to people who actually need it. Plus Sadio’s options are limited given he hasn’t done that well at Bayern and he’s getting on a bit age wise (for a footballer).

This time last year we were all screaming he was sold too cheaply and a bargain for BM. But that coin for anyone over 30 must be taken. Well done again. That’s why I have no problems with Hendo and Fab being sold. They ain’t gunna get better.

just whisper it, but with Sadio, he might be more aligned with some of the Saudi Views that make us uncomfortable.
to me, as much as i disagree with it, it is alot less hypocritical than a devout evangelical christian like Bobby goin there for the coin , or an LGBT rights activist like Henderson going there for the coin…at least Sadio probably agrees with their core values…
look, it is a bit xenophobic from me…on a certain level… but i just i love european football…its taken over a hundred years to get what you have over there…its about grainy footage…its about kids in the street under lamplights…its about how much it means to the working class in remote villages, its about the people whos happiness relies on whether the penalty goes in the net, whether the local lad makes the grade…you cant buy it…you can try…but you cant.
