I’ve already mentioned it, he spent half of his time on the pitch for Liverpool pointing to his teammates where to pass the ball (or to just pass it to him, I often felt like was being ignored). He moves constantly but he hasn’t been able to channel that movement into effective performances - I hope Southampton take care of that (I read a good joke, “Minamino realised that the best way to get into Liverpool’s starting XI is by playing for Southampton first”).
That said, I don’t expect him to become a top player at Liverpool, I’d even say he’s more likely to become another Ings-type of transfer if he does well on loan there.
Exactly, seen a few comments along the line of just sell Origi FFS like its Football Manager. There has to be a buyer or interested party. Plus the player has to want to move. Otherwise it’s not happening. With Taki he has clear desire to play football, and also he is a very attractive option for teams. Origi I can see us being stuck unless we are willing to accept a low offer
I don’t disagree there will be clubs interested. That said, just as there needs to be a willing buyer in a sale, their has to be a player interested and willing in going on a loan. We’ve already seen Shaqs decline multiple loan moves, and I wouldn’t at all be surprised if Origi turns down a loan move.
I’m not so sure. We seemed to have trouble when he last when on loan but I couldn’t say if that was down to the terms we were asking for or whether there simply wasn’t anyone interested.
I am leaning towards the latter myself but we’ll see.
Something doesn’t add up with Takis time here. Never given a run no matter how shit weve been at times this season.
Clearly a clever player and how he is out on loan while we have to endure Origi walking around the pitch is beyond me.
My lad says he read that Taki actually wanted to leave and was prepared to hand in transfer request to force move - if, and its a big if, thats true I cant see him wanting to come back.
Interesting theory Walshy. Just taking all that on face value, and looking at how Taki was/wasn’t deployed, makes me wonder if he was even a Klopp purchase. Or if the decision was made above him to bring him in? Again, this is nothing more than speculating based off that information.
I do think Taki is in a perfect situation for himself now. Just stay in Soton, get regular football on a weekly basis and enjoy yourself.
I don’t believe that for one second, nonsense. Didn’t the club need space to get Kabak into the squad?
I would think that such a rumour is crossed wires otherwise Taki would have wanted the buy out clause in as an incentive to go on loan, it just doesn’t add up.
so am I.
I think the problem was our players didn’t understand what was going on when Taki accelerated the game. Too used to walking around without purpose.
