Ex-Player: Takumi MINAMINO

Yeah it may be nonsense but I don’t blame him for wanting to leave if true.

Let’s not forget that even our own players pushed for the manager to sign Taki after we played RB Salzburg in the CL and he tore us apart. Definitely not a Brendan Rodgers’ type board room signing plucked from obscurity.

I think Klopp planned to use Takumi frequently this season.

But just when he wanted to field Takumi, during the hectic Dec-Jan period, we hit a rough patch. Klopp consciously didn’t use him (along with Neco, Tsimikas, Rhys, Nat, Curtis) because he would come under undue and unfair criticisms. He might even feared about racist abuse too.

Think about how sparingly those players have been used.

Wow, one goal and the talk massively changes. :joy:

I have no big issues with Klopp’s decision. Next summer we either get a player with minutes in this league, more used to it. Or a revived market value, more interest in him.

He was more of an opportunistic transfer, it’s not easy to go from Austrian league straight to the PL champions. You saw he stylistically does okay, but struggles with the sheer level of intensity.

Doesn’t mean we’ll sell him. I think Origi goes for sure and then the rest it depends who we want to keep/bring and what offers we get.

Maybe this was the case 15 years ago but anyone thinking that now is sorely mistaken. Son Heung Min is one of the best attackers in the world. Shinja Kagawa was a very tidy player before United ruined him. Honda was halfway decent. Kubo is like 20 and on the rolls on Real Madrid. He could turn out to be the next Son.

He also scored in his last game for us against Palace so 2 in 2 :kissing_heart:

3 in 2 wasnt it?

Swap with Ings.

Fuck no!

1st touch was quality and then sat the keeper down and slots it home with outside of the foot. Calm as you like

Quality finish. Surely a better option for us than Origi.

Think he is better in behind the striker or AM.

What’s that 2 starts and 2 goals?

3 starts 2 goals.

Got a bit of info on minamino today. Well, not so much info but news.
Anyone remember Mark Gower who played for Rodgers at Swansea? Probably not but at one time he had better pass accuracy than iniesta and xabi.
Anyways he is best mates with my ex brother in law who i bumped into today while out for a walk. He’s daughters are my nieces.
Well…Gower now works for LFC (Rodgers got him the job) in the scouting dept and it was him who recommended Lfc take a chance on Taki as they found out he had £7.5m release clause. He said Liverpool really scout a player and go right into the tiniest details and minamino ticked all the boxes for a Klopp player and was dirt cheap. No brainier.
They are amazed it hasn’t worked out for him here and don’t quite understand what’s happened. But the club are pleased he has gone saints as they have a good relationship with them again after the VVD initial fuck up but said if successful they could easily get £20-£25m for him if a permanent transfer happens.

He agreed with me that Davies was a pure desperation signing after Matip was ruled out. They obviously made a few enquiries but as everyone knew LFC was desperate the prices shot up so just went with Davies as cheap and the schalke lad who was on their radar anyways according to Jurgen.

It seems that we haven’t used Minamino to his fullest ability…Fuck me, why are we still stuck with Origi who can’t score in a brothel for the last few months?

The reason it didn’t work out for Minamino is he couldn’t do fuck all from the bench and had to sit there whilst Origi got the call before him.

Ye it doesn’t reflect well on him to be giving that info out to an ex family member he bumps into on a weekend walk. I would imagine that info, particularly about Davies being a “panic buy” is sort of privilege information and anybody on the coaching/scouting team and still connected to the club shouldn’t really be sharing that info with friends, family or anybody really.

I watched their game today, he didn’t play well. He needs to work on his ball retention, he lost it almost every time he received it.

His composure for the goal was outstanding though. If he can continue doing that whilst improving the other areas of his game he will make an excellent Premier league player.

Still, a long way to go yet.
