this is a big part of it. but as long as he’s able to give our front line some rotation against games where he should be getting minutes… and scoring goals… then his place is cemented for a while. much like Origi.

To be fair though, you can only score against what’s in front of you, and he’s done well on that. Still counts Arsenal, Leicester, Brentford, and Norwich amongst the teams.
Winning back-to-back quadruples will mean a lot of games over the next eighteen months.

I saw the highlights of the game against Australia. Taki had a good shot on target, he hit the post, missed a sitter, and someone else got the goals.

It was his team mate that missed the sitter as he was shooting not passing IMO

Since his transfer in January 2020, Takumi has played 1117 mins for Japan and 2871 mins for Liverpool & Southampton.
Let’s spare a thought for Takumi, his three goals in the fourth and fifth rounds were vital.
