Ex-Player: Takumi MINAMINO

Takumi mins/goal is 101. By that standard Timo should have had 22 goals, he has 11, and Lukaku should have had 26 goals, he has 15.

I hadnt realised they had that many goals.

17mill price tag, that would be a good fee for him if any club is prepared to meet it

Iā€™m not sure Iā€™d take 17m unless Taki is asking to leave for more minutes. Heā€™s guaranteed goals against lower quality opposition, a great option to throw in when others need a rest.

The shirt sales in Tokyo must be worth that over the next couple of yearsā€¦

I can see him staying I wouldnā€™t have thought that a few months back he is an option on the wing we donā€™t have. Origi is technically behind 3 players.

Minimino you can argue behind one who is it seems running his contract down, he isnā€™t a Salah replacement but he is a squad option

Posing in the wrong thread hereā€¦ must be late eh

Ā£10m profit? Yeah, Iā€™d take that.

He played just over 1000 minutes this season. With Origi gone, he may get more minutes next season. However, the fact is he wasnā€™t called upon during the long stretch when Jota and Salah were struggling, not even as a substitute.

interesting how so many think that this fella is going to be sold this summer. why?

Might be the rumoured 17m price tag.

Only goes if we bring someone in or Mane stays, thats if he wants to move. Reckon he stays if he wants.

I thought i read something a month or two ago suggesting he wanted to leave this window.

He wont be pushed out, but i would imagine the club are open to offers above a set minimum, particularly as they look to rebuild. His perfomances and likely price might make him an attractive option for a number of clubs both domestic and abroad.

Because he barely played, and there is only so many years a really good player can get by like that.

It also makes a lot more sense that senior players who frequently were not involved even when fit could collectively be moved on in exchange for one player with expectations of challenging more for regular games.

Itā€™s mostly a case of putting 2 and 2 together and coming up with 4

sounds great and all in theory, but we really havenā€™t operated like that have we? We donā€™t clean house and offload a bunch of first team players all at once, we never have. too disruptive to the dressing room.

Realistically, we ended up with a large squad (hence why we could also do better in domestic cups), so we have more offloading to do than bringing players in. Corona had a negative effect and itā€™s also not easy to sell players when youā€™re at the top. Main thing is that we donā€™t have a lot of ā€œsmall casesā€ to offload. We donā€™t have many loans out either, weā€™ll see if we can find a buyer for Davies or it takes another year of another loan. I think if you asked the club, this summer in general we sell; Ox, Taki, Nat, Neco (obviously Mane could go as well)ā€¦ bring in letā€™s say 2 new signings (main ones, not counting a possible goalkeeper or a cheapish/young RB like Ramsay, who knows if heā€™d even play much) and thatā€™s it.

Weā€™ve never had such a large squad of well regarded players. The reality is it is likely a player or two too big meaning we have really good players unable to even make the bench in a game with 10 subs allowed. If weā€™re going to strengthen to try to add a couple of players who might challenge for regular games, it makes sense to move on an equal or greater number of players who are not guaranteed to even make the bench week to week.

63 games last season, most Iā€™ve ever seen. the only player we didnā€™t have strength in depth for was Mo Salah and he fell off a cliff after AFCON. without that depth, no chance we are chasing the quad.

cannot have your cake and eat it too. Iā€™d be really curious to see how many different goal scorers we had last season over the full season. 22 different scorers?

Iā€™m pretty sure a few of the more reliable journos said we were open to letting him go a few months back.

Of course as effect as he was in the FA and Caribou (or whatever) cups, we didnā€™t trust Taki to deputize for Mo even though it was clear Mo needed a restā€¦

Hence the logic of why would he really want to stay.
