Ex-player Trent Alexander-Arnold

‘Name the best Starting11 of the PL era’

Only one rightback in a football team but Trent would still be one of the first names on the sheet because he is a standout in his position.

2 or 3 in midfield but Gerrard could still miss out because of the competition - unless you can only see through the red tinted glasses.

Trent Virg Matip Robbo
Gini Stevie G Xabi
Salah Suarez Sadio

Wasn’t talking about All Liverpool.

You said PL era :man_shrugging:t2:

And at the risk of derailing, there is no way a prime Gerrard misses out of a starting spot of any PL era Liverpool midfield

Sorry it’s late.

Meant an alltime PL starting11.

Trent’s competition would be clowns like Walker and Neville while Gerrard would have to compete with the likes of Scholes, Viera, Keane, Toure, KDB, Lampard…

Yeah ok, in that case, depending on what makeup of team you would like, Gerrard couldmiss out. You will find though that almost all of Gerrard’s contemporaries would probably have Stevie in their PL all time starting eleven. Plenty of clips of the likes is Scholes, Ferdinand, Neville etc lauding Gerrard

Finnan was an excellent full back, also Arbeloa, who did it at Madrid, neither are clowns, may not have Trents vision or passing, but by far both are better on the defensive side whilst being good in possession.

You’re wasted here with skills like that !

Nah…
He didn’t put in aka every couple of words. Nor did he mention Clodoaldo.

You see how Wirtz has been treated respectfully by Leverkusen and contrast with how Trent’s been treated by Liverpool.

Is it all to do with people leaving on a free ?

Maybe.
Maybe the announcement before the end of the season by Trent was ill advised? Gave everyone the opportunity to vent.
But the leaving on a free seems to rankle right enough.

All time PL team has Gerrard at 2, 8 and 10.

Too early to say but Wirtz probably will not regret leaving Leverkusen.

After a few years , I think Trent will regret leaving Liverpool the way he did.

Trent:

“Speaking to the players, the manager, the owners, they were all incredible and showed amazing support and were a huge help. We had an amazing conversation in the last couple of days with the owners, they were very warm and welcoming and thanked me for everything I gave in service to the club. They wished me well on my future journey and what I wanted to do and said I am always welcome back at the club at any point.”

“Being at Liverpool for so long and experiencing everything what I did and what I had was incredible and knowing it was coming to an end and it was always going to be emotional for me. But I went out in a way I was happy about, the send-off I got, the way the club treated me, the way the fans were as well was outstanding, I couldn’t say a bad word.”

I’ve no doubt that Trent has had those words with the owners.

Okay okay last one

Gerard literally carried the team during the worst ownership fiasco versus Trent having world class players all around him and the best financially responsible owners. Like to see TAA do 1/10th of the work Gerrard did.

Gerrard was the most complete player out of all of them.
