The thread about ā former players and managersā that was started in 2020. I was told that we need to keep the forum tidy by keeping things in existing topics where possible. Maybe thatās only a rule for new posters?

I couldnāt give a shit mate to be honest. Iām just making the point that some posters seem to get flagged straight away and merged and others which are up for months donāt even though thereās clearly another thread that this would be perfect in about ex players and managers.

There is a general ex-players thread, and there are specific ones when itās a significant ex. Gerrard has his own, for example. Thatās the ways itās worked for years.
In this case, the thread has been active since the summer of 2024, when it was the player thread. When he left the title was changed and it was moved into the ex player section, which is generally how we do it.

Itās one thing to be indifferent towards him now and quite another to celebrate his failures, diminish his quality and his contributions, and make up all sort of stories such as this one, just to stick the boot in.

I donāt care if Trent is great or shit in Spain to be honest, he made his choice and heās done here. I appreciate his impact on our offensive game and no doubt he contributed to many trophies along with many other players. But he is a fucking shocking defender and also cost points (and a possible champions league) at times. Legend? No chanceā¦but thanks all the same for being a big part of a successful period. But beyond that, meh.
