I don’t care if Trent is great or shit in Spain to be honest, he made his choice and he’s done here. I appreciate his impact on our offensive game and no doubt he contributed to many trophies along with many other players. But he is a fucking shocking defender and also cost points (and a possible champions league) at times. Legend? No chance…but thanks all the same for being a big part of a successful period. But beyond that, meh.

Trent didn’t get booed because of his choice to move. Many didn’t understand it but respected his choice (even though I thought it was a bad choice career-wise but a good choice money-wise).
He was booed because he pretended like it was a choice that was up in the air for him until late, and let the club think that as well (or at least, managed it with the club and told us at the last minute).
He probably made the choice before last season started. So there was a bit of two-facedness going on there.

That’s what people don’t appreciate. He could have just let everyone know he isn’t signing another contract and he would have had a nice farewell season.

Salah just make an impetuous choice but he wants to stay, he isn’t agitating for a move.

Based on what? Why would he string the club and the fans along, instead of just doing what you’ve suggested?

Lots of fans have convinced themselves that he is a cunt and then created a narrative to suit their preconceived notion of him.

I do not think he will return here. He’ll stay at Real Madrid and hope the next manager will better involve him. Even if that doesn’t work out, I still suspect he’d rather go elsewhere then come back here. The way he was booed at Anfield, I think, ended any shot of that happening.
