Ex-player Trent Alexander-Arnold

Can’t see RM giving up on him after one season unless the new manager wants him out. In that case he’d probably go on loan.
If we wanted him back they’d try to squeeze every last euro out of us and it probably wouldn’t make sense.
I’d love to see him come back. The idea of him feeding Frimpong with passes in behind is very appealing, but it’s hard to see it happening in the real world.

Managers at Real Madrid don’t have that sort of power or authority. Even the likes of Zidane. The manager there is only ever keeping the seat warm for the next guy and is using Perez’s players, not his own.

Fuck him.

That’s abit harsh Jaffod.

He is young, he will learn from his mistakes.

He’s 28 next birthday.

His performance against Man U at Anfield last season is enough for me to never want to see him back at this football club. Fucking unforgiveable.

Look, he is already 28. If he comes back here, his new contract will end in around 2032. By then he will be already 33, too old to stab us again.

We absolutely need his passing, especially long-range passing.

I think his Madrid career is over. It appears they’ve seen enough.

His defensive problems were never going to be excused at Madrid like they were for us.

It’ll be interesting to see where ends up. I think he’ll end up back in England, but I don’t think it will be with us.

I think Frimpong is starting to look good and if Bradley can stay fit the right back spot is covered anyway.

That is an oversized if.

He’s been injured, Carvajal’s contract is running out (don’t know if he will sign a new one). Would mean that Real would have to sign at least one RB, if not two. Don’t know if they have someone coming through. I don’t see them trying to sell Trent so soon, why would they?

Yeah. Its not looking good for him.

I wouldn’t be against Trent coming back sometime but it depends on the fee and our need for him at the time. We certainly have injury concerns at right back at the moment but even this summer we have other positions that’ll need strengthening.

I certainly don’t see why Real would rush getting rid of him.

Suddenly they’d have to sign at least one RB, if not two.

Carvajal is 34 and contract expiring this summer and I would guess they don’t want to keep using Valverde there (we’re not the only ones using a player like Szobo out of position!).

They had a tricky pre-season (which Xabi initially didn’t want to be part of, because technically that CWC belongs more to last season than this season), Trent’s had injuries.

It’s certainly not in Arbeloa’s power to decide what will happen with Trent, that would be delusional to believe those rumours.

We’ll see who’s their head coach for the rest of this season, next season and I’m pretty sure they will continue with him and see what else they do in that position.

Carvajal, Rudiger and Alaba are all out of contract. Some serious earners in defence could be released.

Trent Alexander-Arnold slammed by Spanish media over ‘weak’ Real Madrid season

“Spanish media: “Trent has shown more weaknesses than strengths””

Feel a bit bad for the lad. Our local press are not that merciless for a local lad, can’t say the same for British and Spanish tabloids.

As mentioned before by others and me, he bulked up significantly a few years ago, but it seems that has caused his drop in recovery speed and increase in injuries. TAA still has that wicked accurate pass, but his overall game is suffering more and more.

Would he come back ???

Yes. And play him in the middle and szobo at rb!

Absolutely. He’d do us the world of good, as we are very short at right back.

With so many injuries at the RB position, I wonder if TAA has put up a voodoo doll because the supporters heckled him when he decided to leave the boyhood club.

I dont. Not in a vindictive way, but because this is one of those cases that was not just predictable but widely predicted. This was simply part of the deal he made when agreeing to go there.

Nobody listens to Kloppo wise words.

“Stay here and they will end up building a statue in your honor,”

“Go somewhere else, to Barcelona, to Bayern Munich, to Real Madrid, and you will be just another player. Here you can be something more.”

For me it is more that they as a fan base need a scape goat. Even when they are winning they need someone to throw shit at. Given Trent was arriving with big question marks about not just his defending but his defensive effort it always seemed to me he was just absolutely primed to be a whipping boy there even if he was playing well, and had potential to get really ugly if his defensive issues became problematic.

To me the whole thing is a bit like the story of the scorpion and the frog.
