I know it is not right what I am about to say. I would like Xabi Alonso to take over LFC in July.
Rumours coming out of Man City that Pep Guardiola might leave at the end of the season, i don’t want Xabi being poached to Man City.

I’ve been wondering about this. It seems to have gone quiet about him since we have had a couple of convincing results.
I suspect we may have sounded him out, but whether there is anything concrete is another matter. If we do change the coach at the end of the season, that will have to be decided well in advance, which could conceivably mean Slot winning the European Cup and still moving on.
Who is part of Xabi’s coaching ‘team’? I’d like to know more about the group he likes to work with (admittedly it’s relatively early days in his coaching journey).
I suspect something has been set-up for the end of the season already, with maybe some contingency to happen earlier if we dip further/again.
I think the turning point for me from giving Slot more time to wanting to see change was not the results, but not really seeing many glimmers of things being turned around in terms of performances. We’ve actually seen some evidence of that now, but it’s probably too late. Unless the rest of the season becomes exceptional quite quickly the management change will happen.
I do feel for Slot as he’s had a lot of difficulties to manage through. At some point you do have to accept a change is necessary though and I’d prefer it if he leaves after getting us properly back on course.
Timing is a big thing in football.
If Xabi ends up taking over somewhere else in this league in the next few months and we’re not sure we want to do that change now, so be it.
Though I still don’t get the feeling Guardiola will go this summer.
I’m not convinced that Slot is entirely the problem. I’ve definitely noticed improvements over the last few games, even the Bournemouth debacle. However, i am not entirely sure that sticking with him is the solution, either.
The coaching staff really come as a unit and I think swapping the set-piece coach has helped (it was comically bad). But it is up to the head coach to ensure it is coherent.
I think if he wins one of the big cups he’ll go.
I’ve still got a few of those massive cups Sports Direct used to give you when you bought enough crap.
He can have one of those if he fucks off.
He probably does want to go out on a high, needs to get on the blower to PGMOL.
Really like to see Xabi here, certainly not at Citeh,Slot has tried but this season seemed to be out of ideas, and has said as much, on occasion.
The whole issue needs to be dealt with( without the resurrection of Woy or BR)
Not that kind of high, Pep!
