I saw that. The last paragraph. In need of a good editor!
Love it except:
Don’t think Jurgen can or should come back, even in an interim capacity. Get Xabi in immediately after PSG
I am aware, but if Klopp had actually hinted at a Liverpool return, it would be all over the news. All that he has said is that he may not be done with coaching. Everything else, as far as I can tell, is a figment of imagination.

I thought it would be nice to read something different for a change from the constantly repeating statements from the various Liverpool accounts. Even if it doesn’t sound particularly positive at the moment, since Xabi is obviously receiving several offers, which shouldn’t really surprise anyone.
And yes, even if it’s probably rubbish, thanks.
It all sounds very plausible. All the leg work has been done. He’s up for the switch to Liverpool. The final decision rests with John Henry.
In the meantime, Slot continues in his role while fighting for CL qualification, which is the last target for the season.
Other clubs will of course be interested in Xabi. I’m most concerned about Man City, but if he has eyes for us, and it sounds like he does, then it should all work out to come here.
A slight amount of uncertainty is introduced because nothing is done until it’s done, but I would have thought John Henry - a wise man who has spent his whole life building up a fortune based on timing things just right - has his finger on the pulse. When it ends for Slot it will be professional, dignified, but crucially very swift. And Xabi will be ready to go right away.
If this is indeed how it is going to play out, I would imagine there has already been some informal conversation with Alonso about recruitment, given the length of time it takes to plan for and execute on deals.
Lets hope so.
ITKSpace fka BayernSpace has been pushing the Alonso narrative with a lot more detail than you’d see in any other report, which to me suggests a bit of rubbishness tbh. The best fake ITKs recognize that throwing a lot of detail into their narratives makes it sound more plausible. Especially as reputable sources have linked Alonso to Liverpool in the past and Slot’s position is in question, it’s easy to craft a fake detailed narrative around all of that.
If there is truth to the notion that Alonso has talked with the Liverpool hierarchy and everything is set up but for FSG’s approval, then he’d know that the club wouldn’t make any concrete moves until the season has concluded and they’ve parted ways with Slot. And I highly doubt that the entire FSG hierarchy would engage with Alonso in that level of detail without having tacit approval from Henry already.
There’s a chance that Slot will, himself, announce his departure once UCL is 100% secured, even if there are games remaining, if only so he can take a bow on the way out. That would be the earliest you’d see concrete moves towards Xabi.
This is an interesting wrinkle. With Chelsea’s collapse we are now only 8 points (from 15) from guaranteeing 5th place, and any point Brighton drop (New, Wol, Lee, Utd) will shrink that further. As disappointing and unreliable as we’ve been it’s entirely possible we clinch CL football with 2 or 3 games left to go. It will be interesting to see if or how the mood around the club and the stories that come out will change between then and the end of the season.
You mean Linda right?
If it is Linda, we’re sound. Alonso is a handsome man!
If it’s Linda one has to suspect beauty is not the key criteria… witness Arne and John himself!
John isn’t a bad looking bloke, yeah he’s pushing 80 but compare him to Trump or RFK Jnr
Remember Mrs Merton with Debbue McGee…
stopped reading the tweet after this bit…
“leading to further high-level interactions involving Linda Pizzuti Henry and representatives of IDUB Global,”
why would John Henry’s wife be involved in discussions?
It’s probably BS as I’ve said, but she’s not just his wife but she’s also a business executive of her own and does have some involvement in business oversight, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she was consulted at some point.
Why not?
Maybe she’s picked up some knowledge in all the time she’s been around the business. I don’t know, but I wouldn’t discount her because she’s a woman. She’s clearly a very intelligent person and may well be qualified
What are his options for next season as you would think Xabi would be in demand from the big Clubs.
I have said in here last week I think he is signed, sealed and delivered for LFC next season.
But what if there is some truth to recent stories that Henry says keep Slot?
United - Never
Chelsea - Not impossible but unlikely
Arsenal - No whether they win 0,1 or 2 trophies
City - quite possible. Pep has a successful season and could take the chance to piss off and before all these so called charges are concluded. I’d hate this.
Newcastle - Smoky. Big $ underachieved this year and Howe under pressure. A chance.
Bayern - nah they are winning as per usual
Italy - dunno I don’t really follow the League but surely possible in a CL Club?
But I hope it’s LFC.
After writing this I just checked if there are any net odds of certain teams. In order…..
LFC - heavy favourite
Bayern
Spurs - yeah right don’t make me laugh
City
Spain
PSG
If not Liverpool, I think Xabi’s next options are Bayern/City.
If Pep leaves City, it’ll be Xabi, Kompany, or Maresca, (or possibly Arteta (if he gets sacked)) who replaces him.
If it’s Xabi, well there’s your answer.
If it’s Kompany, then Xabi will go to Bayern.
If it’s anyone else, I’m not sure where he’ll go.
I don’t see him taking a mid-tier gig in the Premier League like Crystal Palace.
I don’t see him at Chelsea (I think they’ll hire Fabregas or Felipe Luis).
Definitely not at United.
Perhaps he’d consider the Spanish National Team job if they bomb out of the World Cup and sack de la Fuente, but that’s unlikely.
I could see Newcastle if they pay him big to hire him, but I’m not sure it would be smart for him to take that job knowing that they have financial issues and recruitment problems as well.
Maybe Benfica? But that’s a big step back and I assumed that they’d hire Amorim if they sack Mourinho.
Would he go back to Leverkusen? Dortmund might be looking for a new manager?
There is a not-so-insignificant chance that he’s still out of a job next fall.
Who said anything about discounting her because shes a woman?
Im questioning Lindas involvement due to her expertese been in the media and not football management
If i wanted a manager for a newspaper, then i would involve Linda, but a manager for top European football club?
Also it begs the question, was linda involved in discussions for Slot to get the LFC job?
