Expectations for the season

Flashscore have the Copa America being played throughout June and well into July. If that’s true Bobby wont be getting any decent rest at all.

Looks like the final for the Copa is on 10th July, final for the Euro’s is 11th. If you’re right then that leaves 5 weeks until the new season. Not too bad even if some of our lads go all the way in those tournaments. 3 weeks holiday and 2 weeks pre-season, they should have a decent level of fitness when reporting back so it’s a case of hoping nobody picks up an injury.

I missed the Copa part altogether. Then it will be really messy.

Still don’t see us end up in the Top4.

Each game as it comes as they say.

No expectations just see how it plays out, I’m one of those who isn’t bothered with the Europa mind.

I love all European competitions. The group games would be great opportunities for Tsimikas, Neco etc.

The Singapore contingent, myself, @20andcounting and @The_Phenom met up last night for coffee and unanimously agreed that a CL final is the minimum we want from the team. Singapore has voted.

Nice to meet up with you guys. Only the 2nd and 3rd person i meet from this forum, with the first being DeathOrGlory from TIA who did not seem to come over here :disappointed:

You met up? In person? As in, in the same physical space?

What kind of sorcery is this?

I meant I don’t mind if we play in it. As opposed to the oh we must avoid it at all costs.

Like we’ve played on Saturday much of the season anyhow.

The 2021-22 season starts on August 14. That gives the players just five weeks break. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

It’s pointless getting worked up over it. The season has pretty much always started mid-August and in the years of major competition the players have always had way too short a break. Its been so going back many, many, many years now with many, many, many comments just like yours. I’m not saying its a good thing but it is what it is and has been since time immemorial.

You are right. It’s pointless, because it’s as it is.

Coming off a congested season and a congested summer schedule, it’s just lunacy not to push back the new season by a week or two.

Whatever :man_facepalming::man_shrugging:

That’s PL for you. I have never heard of them being accused of utilising common sense before

It has been pushed back by a week :sunglasses:.

Originally, Premier League was scheduled to start simultaneously with the Championship on August 7.

I’m missing the Boys over this break. It feels like it’s been forever since we’ve played.

I also have a feeling we are still going to make top 4.

Normally the championship starts the week before premier league.
