Expectations for the season

Five points to make up on Chelsea will be tough. Doable, but tough. Leicester a further five points ahead, so will need a bit of a collapse from them, given the amount of games left.

Yeah; a Leicester collapse is unheard of.

To be fair, Leicester has been very resilient and organized this season. Stranger things have happened (six consecutive losses at Anfield), but a collapse that will put them out of top-four looks very unlikely.

I think the top three spots are pretty much locked on. Our best bet is to sneak into the fourth spot and win the Champions League.

We were punching above our weights in December and we had a colossal train wreck for three odd months after that. Given the season we have had, we have exceeded what was expected, especially since it got way too fcked up after the 6 home defeats!

What’s your expectations for rest of the season?

Still too early to say.

CL, anything is possible

FA Cup, we’ll see

League Cup, not reaching the final over two legs against Arsenal would be a real shame

PL, think it’s obvious that we have to beat Chelsea, Brentford and Palace next month to be in some kind of a title race

Expectations… hard to say.

Hopes: a trophy at least. And to be in some sort of conversation/deep in one of the two or both main competitions. To be able to kick on next season again.

I prefer stopping for a minute in May, look back and judge what we’ve done and in which context, looking at all factors. I mean, I do that all the time, bit by bit.

So far so good, after the 20/21 season we’ve had. It’s hard to expect/plan to win the league or CL (that is incredibly difficult to plan to win). Could’ve been much worse, so I don’t think some people give us credit for this half a season. It’s not a shock (but it’s also not easy that’s for sure), but a lot of people wrote us off last summer. Or didn’t mention us enough.

It’s half the season, we’re alive in all 4 competitions, we’re in one SF, we’re not too far from City, we just had an amazing group stage in Europe and could be dangerous there (QF is I think the main “moment” often when the team starts believing more), a lot of our phases of the game are back to or close to it’s best, although there is room for improvement in other aspects. Plus the consistency. But domestically as sporting rivals, we probably have the best side England has seen in a long, long time.

I’m in no panic mode, I’m not in any drama. I still don’t take this whole period under Klopp for granted. That’s why I want us to remember it with more trophies, not all trophies inside a year. I enjoy this period, hope we win something and hope we’re at least pushing deep towards spring in main competitions.

Three cups and a good chance of the league.

I expect the mods to splash the cash to bring in some top quality posters to freshen things up with particular focus on a real superstar pre-match thread starter

It’s a difficult market, so don’t expect too much. A pre-match thread starter just isn’t available.

To comfortably qualify for CL.

To go as far as possible in Champions League.

To win either League Cup or FA Cup.

I’ve reached a pre-contract agreement with a great lad from RAWK for the summer. He’s wasted over there and is keen to move on.

Is there any chance we can resurrect some posters we moved on, ala the Chavs bringing Lukaku back??

I mean, it seems to be going well for Roman’s mob.

All of this for me. I would love the FA Cup, been wanting that for the boys. But I’d be happy with League Cup just the same.

I put in the Leicester post match, I don’t doubt our boys for one second and of course anything is possible, but City will be difficult to catch for the league. Just my opinion of course. That’s no slight or shade on our squad, it’s more to highlight how surgical (and deep) City squad is. I just don’t believe the League is a realistic target.

Win the fucking lot :upside_down_face:

League never was a realistic target (not just because of Man City but Chelsea as well) but I will hope for a miracle nonetheless. That said, with all the players out with COVID and all the injuries and AFCON absences, even League Cup and FA Cup campaigns are severely in danger but I hope that those raging waters can be navigated successfully.

cant see us winning the league as Man City will be relentless in their pursuit of it,

the Champs league,
FA Cup,
League cup,

i would hope to win 2 of those, beating Man City in the final of the champs league final in St Petersburg
would be the icing on the medovic!

Playing Man City in the final would be extremely stressful - I’d rather Pep had a melt down against someone else and didn’t make the final. As exhilarating as it would be beating them in the final, a loss would be brutal.
