Expectations for the season

No way is Jurgen going to give up this PL fight with the oil Cheaters.!
Certainly not after last weekend’s attack on him…
We should watch, wait and see this side begin to go through the gears now… and let’s hope Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and the Cheaters start taking points of each other this particular season

I think the PL is out of reach. So ideal scenario is that Arse win it, we win the CL and we unveil a shared Arsenal-Liverpool banner - “Sports washing lost; football won” - stretching from one side of the Kop/North Bank to the other for both the home and away legs next season, making explicit reference to City and Newcastle.

Its certainly beneath us to do something like this. Opposition fans tend to chant Gerrard songs after 2 mins in most of our away games so its usually us living rent free. But in any case I would love to see a couple of normal-run clubs win the two biggest trophies and stick it to the cunts who are ruining football.

I expect it to be long.
I expect it to be painful.
& I sure as hell expect it to be 1 to forget.

CL quarter finals, fa cup and finish 4th.

Top 4 is gone now, belief long gone from this squad…no signs of putting it right.

But don’t worry because we’re signing Jude Enzo and Caicedo in the summer to mount a title charge next season.

Expectations now are to avoid Europa Conference and go out midweek with the little pride we have left.

I want the most we can get. If not CL, then EL. If not EL, then Conference. Plain simple, really.

But now we’re in danger of being without Europe at all.

There isn’t any real danger on missing out on Europa league, nevermind the joke of a competition that was formed 2 years ago.

To put into perspective just how shit it is, the current joint favorites for the competition sit in 1 of the relegation spots in the league.

I have expectations in terms of performances and hope they improve giving us a solid base for next season. The rest is understandable given where we are right now. Period.

I just want to enjoy watching us play again. And I want Klopp and our players to feel the same. Trophies will come by, but first the anticipation of weekend and having our game needs to return rather than the indifference and the dread attitude I have personally these days.

Top four is not gone yet. Plenty of league games to go but it is dicey. Need to improve fast. Hopefully those above can drop some form too.

This, I do think that run at the end of that season led into the following one and it was why we were so good last season.

Replace danger with loss.

I’m not sure what to expect. I was bullish about top four before the World Cup break. We were crap, but I expected an improvement after the break.

So far I have not seen it! And the shortcomings in the side, mostly but not only the midfield, seem more and more glaring as each game passes.

I’m also concerned that Klopp looks tired, and we have made a lot of changes to the team behind the team.

All this against the backdrop of a big question mark over ownership, as we are for sale, in whole or in part.

I hope we can find it in ourselves to regroup and get a spark from somewhere. If we can, top four is still not gone. If we cannot, then I don’t know how low we will sink, but we could easily remain mid table.

If we aren’t making the CL I would rather not have any European football. Better to bounce straight back in the league and give it a real good go with a lighter schedule, rather than flying to the arse end of Europe to play the Dog and Duck.

Well, as Klopp said, we have reached a low point. This game was terrible, and Brighton exposed all our weak spots.

From here on, I’ll not watch the league table anymore and I don’t care where we’ll end up at the end of the season. The only thing I want to see is a continued improvement from where we are now.

This squad has to get its act together again and find back its playing identity, which has been missing since some time. That has to be the goal for what remains of this season now.

You should care.

The table after 38 games is an accurate measure of your season’s work.

I personally, believe top 4 is still achievable. However, unless we sort our issues out, over the course of the next few games it will be.
If we can not get an athletic, combative midfielder in this window, or adapt our formation/tactics to maybe play deeper, maybe with closer lines then we will be struggling for top 7.
What is important, is that our players are given the chance to regain confidence. I would be happy to overload our midfield and get a few 1-0 wins or 0-0 draws, just to build confidence. We will always be dangerous on the counter attack, maybe having the team sit deeper will help us?
