Meh. Don’t care now that we are out.
So likely to be Coventry vs Man City115 final.
Man United are winning it, aren’t they?
Come on Cov.
My favourite of the Midlands clubs (or at least my least disliked) if only for this 2 tone kit.
That all sounds very positive on the face of it. They are actually taking what is supposed to be their premier competition seriously.
Personally, I’m disappointed that the replays are being scrapped. It was always one of the big selling points when a smaller team would manage to get a draw away to a bigger team, then force a replay at home in some tiny stadium with changing rooms barely big enough for 1 man and his dog.
Maybe they should just be given the option.
It says exclusive but in the article it says it will take place on the penultimate weekend.
If it does take place on a PL weekend what’s the point of keeping the quarter final weekend free.
As well as doing away with replays, why don’t they just give the two Manchester clubs a bye for the first six rounds, so they only have to play from the semis onwards?
I wonder if the games go to extra-time then, or straight to penalties…
Assume extra time as it should really.
I know people hate it but I still like the idea.
Apparently they get played on a Sunday after the Final.
For competition sakes this is probably actually a big positive. Rarely do you see a team get a draw and then come through in the replay.
So you might actually get more shocks this way, you may get some dull games but you also may get some games taken more seriously.
Coventry please.
Just Coventry
No one else
Just read that the only clubs consulted were PL clubs. That’s appalling. I understand why replays are not in LFC’s interest, but they are part of the fabric of the game.
Or the inverse. More than one club has been pulled back from the brink with a battling draw at home in front of their own small crowd, earning the split gate from an away leg to a comparative giant.
Lot of outrage about this, and rightly so.
Disgusting that only PL clubs were consulted, with the main reasons given for doing away with replays is the old “too many games” excuse.
Ironic that Spurs and Newcastle playing in Australia 3 days after the season ends.
Here’s a novel solution for all the entitled cunts in the Premier League (including our club).
If you don’t want a replay. play fucking better.
Football is becoming more vile by the year
Lower league clubs should boycott the competition.
Yeah these sort of shite money spinning tours piss me off. Last thing this country needs is PTSD from a load of fat Georgies going topless through the Aussie winter.
