FA Cup 2025/2026

Just let em fight it out…

Alright then not fixed…a convenient draw for Arsenal…

I was joking anyhow. I however posted that draw about 5/6 posts up.

Fine with Wolves to be honest. Certainly looks like a draw in an attempt to keep the big names in.

The team will still have to take it fully seriously, but objectivelly that’s a good draw. One step away from QF and with the SF at Wembley (don’t like it of course), two more wins and you can start smelling a trophy. The league game we’ll have against them will no doubt be of massive importance as well so hopefully we can have a good insight into whatever they could surprise us with. They’ve been trying to play a bit more since the end of the transfer window.

Full 5th round draw:

Fulham v Southampton
Port Vale or Bristol City* v Sunderland
Newcastle v Manchester City
Leeds United v Norwich City
Mansfield Town v Arsenal
Wolves v Liverpool
Wrexham v Chelsea
West Ham v Brentford

*Port Vale vs Bristol City is now scheduled for Tuesday 3rd March

I can see Wrexham doing a number on Chelsea , and I can also see a distinct possibility of trouble there.

A collective number two in the changing rooms would do.

Our 5th round tie vs Wolves will be on 6th March 20:00 GMT and on TNT in the UK. The league game is on 3rd.

TBH, this is probably best for all concerned with our European game scheduled for the next week.

Edit: also on BBC One and iPlayer according to TIA.

I have just realised why they shoehorned the FA cup game against wolves on Friday 6th march, we play the last 16 CL game due either on the 10th or 11th march depending on who we get of Athletico, Bruges, Gala or Juve yes another away game!

That means we play 3 games in 6 days or 4 games in 9 days, totally bonkers, if we don’t get any injuries will be a minor miracle!

Well where else are they going put the FA Cup game? The PL game being on a Tuesday is the furthest back it could be from those games (and against the same team), the FA Cup game could have been on the Saturday but that would give us less time til Tuesday or Wednesday.

It’s
Saturday
Tuesday
Friday
Tues/Wed

Also isn’t it 3 games in 8 days or 4 games in 11.

That weekend was always a cup weekend to be honest, everyone else is playing that weekend so for effectively 7 clubs is the same bar the Home/Away angle. Only real benefit would be moving the West Ham game to the Friday but they won’t do that. It’s no different from a normal early season schedule. where you would play League/CL
