Fabio "FABINHO" TAVARES: 2022/23

Firmino and Fabinho will go and he played in part every game in internationals does seem his minutes are now more limited but I bet he plays more than Firmino who was almost out of the squad at one point.

I have to disagree with the last sentence as for me Fab has in numerous occasions over committed to a challenge and got rolled or easily beaten, when he should have hekd his ground and forced them away from the middle of the pitch.

I know it may be what he his being coached, but selecting when to commit or to hold has been a weakness for him this year.

Thatā€™s really poor from Fabinho, but not half as bad as this tweet

itā€™s not even true

FIFA and Football Manager fans want him to be replaced already but he signed a new contract until 2026 last year and Iā€™m sure Klopp wonā€™t give up on him.

I am also pretty sure that even if we sign two midfielders until the summer none of them will be a specialist defensive midfielder and the plan will still be to share our DM position between Fabinho and Hendo.

I think heā€™s playing injured. heā€™s not moving very well laterally. am guessing lower back or hip.

Thatā€™s my belief too. I think it goes back to the injury he got at the end of last season, and rushing him back for the final.

He has been a brilliant player for us but the drop in his form is really inexplicable. You donā€™t go from what he was to what he is in a couple of months.

He is certainly way up there with minutes player as well, hopefully he gets a good break over the World Cup or we bring in a midfielder so he and Henderson can rotate the no.6 position with young Stefan getting minutes in all the cups.

Bit better and our best midfielder today but still far off.

Losing the flight of a ball that has been dinked over him central on the edge of our box, then clattering into the Spurs player. Blind ref didnā€™t see it though.

Sums him up lately.

I donā€™t think he was better that Thiago. Or Elliot. Or Henderson when he came on.

He is a real concern, and it must be quite a dilemma for Klopp. Do you try and play him back into the form heā€™s capable of, or do you take him out now.

The whole midfield was average, yet again.

Over the next 6-12 months we really need to be replacing every midfielder we have.

He wasnā€™t exposed like he has been because Spurs didnā€™t have the type of player in between the lines to exploit his weakness. Hoijberg, who was apparently playing yesterday, wasnā€™t going to be picking up the ball and running at him.

He wasnā€™t exactly good either, a totally forgettable performance really, which Iā€™d take from him a little bit more.

So all the rumours of a split are BS.

Isreal Tavares has arrived. Born on the last day of 2022. Congratulations to them both.

Assume Fabs back for Brentford.

Professional footballers should only be allowed to impregnate their WAGs in autumn so that the babies arrive in the summer breaks.

Put it in their contracts.
