I think AS intended to use the squad he had inherited this season, with a view to getting us into the CL places, but more importantly, assess everything and everyone in readiness for him to put his own stamp on things from next season onwards.
If there is an element of possibility in this statement, then with regards Federico Chiesa, waiting a full 12months in getting him up to speed, would also fall into this way of thinking.. 
Obviously AS has surpassed what most fans dared to believe, so it is difficult to be critical of anything he has chose to do during the season - next season, the second AS chapter begins, guess we will carry on guessing what we have on our hands eh
I see. I think what I left out is also that it doesnât make sense to have churn just for a backup position. I could see it if weâre bringing in a young right-winger whom weâd want to see develop, but not otherwise.
Feels like youâre underselling winning both domestic cups actually.
I do wonder if @Semmy is referring to 2019-20 though.
