Because I don’t need to. I was simply responding to the scenario you presented, not making a point on whether or not I think he will be leaving.
feels like Chiesa’s role is quite similar to that of Taki Minamino from a few years back. coverage for the position for Cup runs but we were dumped out of the cups unceremoniously early which took away minutes from him
I suspect we will see more of him in the last few weeks of the season once we wrap up #20
Erm… have you forgotten that we reached the Carabao Cup final?
I think AS intended to use the squad he had inherited this season, with a view to getting us into the CL places, but more importantly, assess everything and everyone in readiness for him to put his own stamp on things from next season onwards.
If there is an element of possibility in this statement, then with regards Federico Chiesa, waiting a full 12months in getting him up to speed, would also fall into this way of thinking..
Obviously AS has surpassed what most fans dared to believe, so it is difficult to be critical of anything he has chose to do during the season - next season, the second AS chapter begins, guess we will carry on guessing what we have on our hands eh
I see. I think what I left out is also that it doesn’t make sense to have churn just for a backup position. I could see it if we’re bringing in a young right-winger whom we’d want to see develop, but not otherwise.
Feels like you’re underselling winning both domestic cups actually.
I do wonder if @Semmy is referring to 2019-20 though.
yes.
no, he was right. I forgot about Carabao.
Carabao Cup disrespect!
I was in disbelief because I didn’t think you’d forget how close we were to winning the quadruple… Minamino definitely played a starring role in our League Cup win.
Glad he will get his medal now
