Thing is, no one has implied we bought him for this season - Journalists have just presumed we had - at £10m, that could be debatable.
LFC will have been aware of his injury record, and may have considered a full 12months rehabilitation was required, anything else landed as a bonus.
I hope to see him play for us this season, if not, we see what next season brings

“Journalists” – a word used all too liberally nowadays.
In any case, he has a 4 year contract, hard to see it being just for this season. I’m not the first to make this comparison, but it is rather similar to Shaqiri in terms of age and price…

Did he have a career for a month here as that’s what it seems like.
I actually remember him finally being ready.
Once he got fit he was pretty good. The problem is it took him until December to be fit enough to start and by that point the season was already looking like a failure with us in 7th or 8th. With him in the side we improved quite a lot and he did well enough to think that he could be an important player in a decent side moving forward, but then Roy came in and decided he needed us to get shitter in terms of personnel to play his midtable brand of football so moved him on and we never got to see it.

Slot said it would be difficult to give him minutes but also that he expected him to feature against Southampton. December schedule in PL really isn’t a good time for a new signing from Serie A, who’s had all sorts of injury issues to boot, to start the bedding-in process but hey, he’s due some good luck - even though I fully expect him to keep club’s medical staff occupied and everyone to laugh at Liverpool’s transfer gurus for trying to play smart.

Oh, yes, I did - I did say that I hoped Fulham would get something out of the game because Arsenal would walk the rest. Imagine my surprise when my mate called me to tell me that Arsenal had just drawn at home to Everton… That’s why I was happy that our game got postponed.
Anyway, if you ever see me go even slightly optimistic on something, call the police - I’ve likely been abducted.
