In terms of football it’s worth the risk.
Cauliflower or whatever his name is had missed a fair bit of the season and cost 50m and lad at Man U the same.

His technical ability is wonderful but, deary me, I’m getting the impression that this whole season will be one prolonged pre-season for him, where he has to prepare himself for the rest of his career.
I think @Limiescouse drew some parallels between Aquilani and him the other day and how Aquillani never got that second season at Liverpool. I hope Chiesa does because of his character and technical ability but he looked so worryingly lightweight in all of his Liverpool appearances that one would think he was a kid from U21s getting acquainted with first team football.

Yeah, he looked everything you probably would have expected - rusty, talented, off the pace, intermittently exciting, occasionally really poor.
He obviously has a long way to go with his build up that I am personally reserving judgement on him until next season and wont be expecting much from him in the run in.

Yeah unfortunately for him, he needs to play himself into form and there likely won’t be those opportunities for a regular run of games.

Like getting a classic car then doing some fine tuning and customising on it… Finally, when it is ready to blast out of the garage, everyone wants to buy it and take it off ya…
The guy is happy and more importantly, he is desperate to play for us regularly… Poor fitness, is akin to recovering from a bad injury… hard work brings you back up to speed

If all goes well, his role for the rest of the season will be to come on for the last 15/20 mins to keep Mo fresh. If he does that successfully no one can complain.

The best bit of the game was the one in the box, ball on his right foot, drop of the shoulder quick switch and move of the ball to his left and hit a shot beyond the keeper going in the bottom corner but cleared by a recovering defender.
It was the sharpness and change of direction which impressed, he also had a subsequent shot blocked by a defender.
As Bekloppt said I thing his cameo’s could be great for us when we need a late option off the bench.

If he stays fit and builds up his stamina, he’ll be challenging both Diaz and Gapko on the left and Salah on the right.
A fit Chiesa is a fantastic asset.

A good second half of the season for Chiesa will help us majorly.
