I donā€™t see how a loan will help. It seems his is a fitness issue and not whether he can get games. If he is deemed fit, he will get minutes so going Napoli is not going to get him fit any better than us.

It comes with the territory - if there is an Italian player in England, rumour mill will be in overdrive whenever he gets substituted, let alone when he isnā€™t playing. Iā€™m tired of it, to be honest, and that is one of the reasons I stopped following Italian news outlets ages ago.

Thereā€™s obviously a player there. Strong, great technique, eye for a goal. But he still looks a bit slow and chubby to me. Been doing his extended pre-season for 6 months. How is it taking so long to get into shape?

There is nothing like playing actual football games. He can train all day long and jog for miles on end; It wonā€™t be the same with him getting meaningful minutes on the pitch.

With his constant niggles, the other options available to Slot and his reluctance to rotate in general, itā€™s not surprising he isnā€™t at his fittest. But heā€™s one hell of a footballer. He just needs time and patience.

This! Absolutely oozes class whenever he is on the ball, but still looks a level below the required fitness levels. Is the game THAT much slower in Italy?

Hoping he gets at least to a level he can start providing that spark off the bench the second half of the season.

I was quite harsh on him in the match thread. Yeah we can all smack one in from the edge of the box. But we donā€™t all play professional football on mega contracts. If we did, weā€™d have the decency to have less fucking chins. Sorry, the guyā€™s a fat crock with obvious talent. Guess which of those attributes will dictate his career here. Clue, donuts.
