He was a striker for Vancouver, and a very good one. Bayern saw his talent but there’s no way he’s replacing Lewandowski, so they put him at fullback. Canada played him up top I think for the first time in the qualifiers, though I could be wrong about that. Canada was good on Wednesday and could have scored seven or eight.
I live in Vancouver, saw him playing for Whitecaps a few times when he was 16/17. good emerging talent, but he wasn’t playing striker. Caps set up in a 4-4-2 and he was playing LM/RM.
He made a good showing for Whitecaps, last time I saw him was a Concacaf cup against America. Gignac was playing for them. Fonzie was already showing class at that point. wasn’t surprised to see Bayern snap him up.
