Does the fact that Brasil has been taken off the red list mean that we will get our players back on time now?
No they play on Friday so they were never going to anyhow plus they enter two red list countries before then, does mean Mane and Tsimkas will be available.
Muller breaks the deadlock. Beautiful flick on header from Goretzka.
That’s a big 3 points for Germany. Romania has very little of the ball tonight but they made it difficult.
4/4 under Flick!
Boycott the fucker
What’s Geoff done now?
Canada held Mexico at Azteca. We have a decent side!
Neco got 76 minutes for Wales yesterday in 2-2 draw. Virgil played the full game for Netherlands in 1-0 win.
Hopefully he will be spared against Gibraltar.
Did not watch it but according to the Dutch-newspapers he was again not at his best, he got a 5 out of 10.
Virgil scores after 9 minutes to give Netherlands the lead.
Jones comes off the bench and gets a assist.
North Macedonia holding Germany 0-0 at half time.
Germany are 4-0 up now.
If Depay continues like this, he’s bound to end his career and this era as the Netherlands’ best ever goalscorer. 15 goals left to catch van Persie and he’s still only 27 years old.
First team to officially qualify for the World Cup.
First international goal for Musiala.
5/5 under Flick. So many reasons to be excited for this new era.
Is it Flick oder herr Flick von der …
I’m not really paying attention to international football right now, so I’ll ask the same question I did a couple of months ago - how much of a new slate are you seeing under flick? With a new cycle beginning it’s difficult to tell how many of the new players would have come in had the old guy stayed, but sometimes you can get a sense of that due to differences in approach and style. What are you seeing?
That’s a great question. I can only give my own perspective. For me, it’s not so much an indictment on Löw. He’s one of the greatest German coaches ever, he just didn’t know when to call it a day and move on. As a result of staying too long I also believe Germany lost their identity, Löw continued to make changes for the sake of change, hoping something would work.
They were at a point where they were just “hanging on”. There is far too much footballing talent in the German pool for that to happen.
Flick represents a breath of fresh air. He wants to play attacking and attractive football. There is a clear vision. He also has no problem giving young players a chance. A few players earned their first German cap under Flick in the last 5 matches. More to come, so much young promising talent in the pipeline.
Nothing that can be quantified, but I find it interesting Flick often consults with club managers that manage his internationals. He sees great value in getting input from club managers, instead of drawing lines.
EDIT: I do again want to thank Löw for his parting gift of recruiting Musiala away from England! What a player.
Alphonso Davies is a superstar!
Davies was quite something in last night match against Panama. I did not catch the game last night, only heard about his run that led to the go ahead and winning goal this morning on the radio.
