FIFA World Cup 2022: Qualification Stage

Off-course they think Söyüncü is better :joy: why else would he be playing.

Guess it’s my personal bias but I was never convinced with Söyüncü.

I do agree he has some flaws he needs to correct, but I can understand why Kabak isn’t playing and he’s got the likes of Soyuncu and Demiral ahead of him (slightly at least) at the moment.

We dodged a bullet with Werner

Bradley on for Northern Ireland.

Long VAR check, Greece got the second goal. 2-0 against Sweden.

Tsimikas playing wing back?

Not too sure… Could also be left back?

The Swede pulled one back… Getting nervous there.

Wales vs Estonia 0-0, Gunners young GK Hein did a good game.

The good news is the international break is over.

The league should just carry on as usual. A little “fuck you” to FIFA and their corruption distorting the sport, and it would be fun to see B teams scrapping with teams who don’t have players gone to the World Cup. Plus it gives me something to watch while ignoring the farcical tournament.

So the PL ends Nov 12, resumes on Boxing Day which is a week break either side of the WC.

All CL group games will be played before that break.

Season starts a week early, still ends in May. CL and FA Cup finals moved back to June.

That’s going to be a hell of a calendar all season, barely a chance that there will be a midweek without a fixture. Players are going to be absolutely fucked again and injuries will go through the roof. Usually love seeing our players play in the big international tournaments, this time I pray to god most of their nations don’t make it.

Just wait for the fact they probably won’t scrap the September or October international breaks.

They have to but I’m pretty sure they will try and work around it.

How gratifying would it be to see mass boycotts?

‘There must be a solution’ - Klopp

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has called on the UK government to find “some kind of solution” to prevent another club-versus-country row.

“There must be a solution obviously, because we cannot just leave it like this and say it’s not a problem. Yes, it is a problem,” he said.

"I’m pretty sure the relevant people are working on this. I know they’re working on this, but there’s nothing decided yet, at least as far as I’m concerned.

“We have a problem when the Brazilians are allowed, or when they go, to the next internationals.”

Liverpool are set to travel to Watford on 16 September without Alisson and Fabinho, as Brazil host Uruguay on 15 September.

Klopp added: "I know it’s a Liverpool problem and nobody else’s problem, and good for Watford.

"But I just don’t know how you can do these kind of things where nobody reacts on the schedule. We have two problems. One is the schedule, it was always a problem.

"TV and other guys, the Premier League, say, ‘OK, that’s how it is, they have to play, let’s have a look how they can sort that’.

“Another thing, it’s not good for the players or the clubs as well and I hope the government comes up with some kind of solution.”

So for the Watford game, we are without Fabinho and Elliott. Keïta could be back but Thiago is a big question mark. Before Watford, we play 3 more matches and 3 internationals.

It would be a miracle if nobody else get injured in those 6 matches …

BTW, if there will be no solution Becker and Fabinho will go into quarantine for 14 days, by then it is almost time to get back to Brazil for the November games. :face_vomiting:

It seems to me that nowadays we may only pay our players huge salary’s and for the rest, we should shut up and fuck off, the UEFA/FIFA/FA decide what we must do. :rage:
