I did enjoy the clear anger in the referee’s coice when he pointed at Almiron and said “Number 10 covered his mouth! Red card!”

Great foresight there. Very stupid indeed by Almiron. It seems to be a problem with him as he got a yellow for feigning a foul in Paraguay’s first game.

Turkey are the biggest disappointment so far.
Many of their teams in past times were meh (I mean, they’ve qualified for two WC’s in the last 64, last time before this one was 2002) or imbalanced, but I expected more of this one for sure.
Certainly not losing to Australia and Paraguay without scoring a goal.
