I meant it as “to the right of VVD” looking towards the Dutch goal - but doesn’t matter. The gist of it got across.
Yeah, shame that. I thought they were great fun in the last Euros, and felt sure they’d get through the group quite comfortably. Now, I watched their game against Spain - might have been a qualifier - where they lost 0-6 or something like that, but I wrote it off as one of them.
I cant be the only one who thinks that Almiron red was absurd. I get what they are trying to do with the rule, but how do you have a rule that says you can do a thing but only if the ref thinks you were being nice while doing it. I’d maybe be more ok had the ref not brandished the red with such glee (after having already penalized the goalie for time wasting after taking such a trivial amount of time our footage had not even panned back to the goalie) making him come across as the sort of ref just desperate to utilize his new powers..
Anyways, definitely watching two games today. Sweden vs Holland and Ivory Coast vs Germany; the second one in particular should be good fun.
