Good grief, my neighbours are remarkable piss heads. Two crates of Warsteiner, a crate of Erdinger, most of the Mönchsof, but on the plus side, they have polished off the Pinot Grigio that cost less than petrol.
Football was much enjoyed, which is the main thing.
I do think there was something off with him. Injury, mentally not in the right place or just physically exhausted I’m not sure but I’ve seen him be much more direct and purposeful than that.
This is only his 2nd year as a professional - he was an amatuer in the USA before that - and he’s made 46 appearances just at club level so I could certainly forgive him if a long season is catching up to him.
Even now, I still cannot believe that the Cote d’ivoire player did not take a first time shot to very likely putting them ahead. Absolutely punished for not taking up rare chance.
Had a special career path. The only german international who never went through the academy of a professional club. Funny guy, loud mouth but also a leader - bit like Robbo.
Released by Werder Bremen aged 15 because ‘too small / too fat’. So he fought his way up from non league, 3rd and 2nd Bundesliga, Belgium, Brighton until he became the best German attacker (25 goals / 14 assists) at Stuttgart this season and now topscorer at the World Cup as things stand.
Like me he has a yazidi/kurdish background and it means a lot to our people finally having someone on the biggest stage. Undav is an extremely likeable lad and think he leads the shirt sales for the national team.
Yes, they’re like the opposite of Croatia. Good at recent EC’s, but failing to qualify for more WC’s. I surely thought they would be a tough nut to crack in the KO stages this year. Was surprised to hear this very negative WC record, very rarely qualifying.
I think the Hawkeye technology works if the whole of the ball is behind the line. The referee get’s an electronic notification. But I was surprised at how long it took for image of the ball on the line to be shown.
Or, they’re not using the Hawkeye tech, which would be strange.
