I’m getting confused by who gets to leave the pitch for a minute. De Paul did not get medical treatment on the pitch, so why does the ref sent him off for 1 minute? The ref decides de Paul needs treatment?

Macca dishing punishment to Austria
I fear for MacAllister, lots of the Liverpool players have gone away to their countries and looked much improved, he unfortunately still looks goosed - visibly covered in sweat compared to other team mates and late to a couple of tackles now giving away free kicks.
If the rule about having to spend 1 minute off the pitch after going down injured will be introduced in the PL I could see him missing 20 minutes a game just waiting to come back on.
