I think African football is going through a transition period. Many of their national team coaches really seem to want to stamp a disciplined style on their teams, seemingly at the expense of much of the creative attacking play many of their players are capable of. Their teams seem to be getting better, but I think struggling for identity at the same time. Not that different from what Brazil has been struggling with for the past 20 years or so, really, but coming from a less illustrious past.
