Any surprises when it comes to the big teams? I don’t think so. Shows again that it’s too many teams and a shit format.
I guess Spain and Argentina have an ‘easy’ path to the semi final.
France should be able to overcome Germany and then Netherlands/Morocco.
Really don’t know what to make of a potential England vs Brazil quarter final. Don’t rate Brazil as a squad but maybe Carlo can be a factor.

France v England final.
England definately happy with that side of the draw. hard to see anything other than an Argentine vs England Semi, maybe Brazil can do a number on the English but i seriously doubt it, if they do, then Ancelotti will have had a lot to do with it.
Spain and Germany must both be pissed they couldnt be in the other side of the draw, youd imagine they would have been favorites to make the final from the other side, even if you factor in this German team is yet to be as good as the sum of its parts.
Spain vs France semi final sounds great but id imagine it’ll be a turgid affair, i really cant be bothered watching that Spanish team.
Morocco could do some damage, i ac tually think theyll get past the dutch, and could lay a glove on the French…

It’s the same as the CL where the real stuff happens when the knockouts commence.
Group stages only offer a handful of classics, pad the striker stats, and ultimately the favourites progress in this system. No massive sides have failed. Uruguay the highest ranked country punted so far not a super power.
Now for the somewhat luck of the draw. Who gets the lucky Arsenal run and who gets the Liverpool draw of death.
Looking at the above it’s tough for Dutch or Moroccans to have to leave early and even the likely Germany v France. But you don’t win the WC easily. You need a bit of luck with VAR and shootouts as well. But looking forward to the big ko matches now.

Japan could definately bowl brazil out. i mean…Neymar got on the park for Brazil in this WC…
anything Brazil do this tourney feels like it has to go through Vini jrs boots , some other useful players…more than useful…but still feels like Vini Jr will need to do some pretty heavy lifting if they want to go deep.

This was my favourite England team ever. We felt a part of this team. This team united the whole country.
We enjoyed the highs and felt their pain. I remember we all cried together watching the final match. Losing a semi-final on penalties is the most painful way to go out of the World Cup.
I don’t think we got over this loss ever.
The song to go with it is so apt.
