FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 3)

You know what I mean, grrr !!! :joy:

I hoisted myself on my own petard with the snotty historian remark.

I’ll clarify if it’s Weimar or in general German history or the era 1800s onwards I’ll be pretty knowledgeable beyond that it’s stuff I’ve read but never anally focused on.

Anyhow best of luck to both teams. I would hope the winner wins the whole thing.

I agree with Jan-Åge Fjørtoft

Any chance someone might actually discuss football, rather than genealogy and politics?

Here i do not say “Inselaffen”.

Odd how this kicks off at 10pm an hour break and you could impact the second kick off with ET and Pens.

Also bit odd that the other is tonight and not tomorrow

I don’t want you to think that I was being serious or judging you. I am really not. I am just being “difficult” and joking around.
I am usually not super serious when I write about sports banter. It’s very shallow and so am I when it comes to banter. I just banter differently like a fucking nerd, that is all

“Sports banter Magnus” isn’t the same persona or even the person, as “politically concerned Magnus” is…

I know so little that I don’t want to say, really. I am too ignorant when it comes to him. Sorry

He want all of America to be great so that would make him a socialist, nay almost a communist, right???

Ah okay. Not worry.

I do want now, Norway wins the World Cup.

You’re not the only one by the looks of it. We’re 5 oC less today but it is still 37oC… it’s been between 37-43 for the best part of 2 weeks here…

Thing is it’s less here but the 40 that hit a few weeks back was for 2 days this as you said has been for 7-10 days.

Felt sick on Thursday and fell asleep during the game last night due to lack of sleep.

I do. It’s very descriptive

When i am very angry about England fans, i do say “Inselaffen”. But not here. Liverpool FC is a English club.

It’s ok. We can laugh at ourselves. I find Inselaffen a funny word for the English. We do behave like monkeys sometimes.

Ah okay.

For me are a abuse, when Germans generally called “Nazis” and England fans or Rangers FC fans chant “Ten German bombers” (England supporters too “Two World Wars and a World Cup”). For this reasons, i do not want, England wins the world cup.

And for this reasons: I would you not call as a “Inselaffen”.

But Inselaffen just doesn’t sound that bad. It’s more like we’re a bit playful and chaotic. That’s what I associate with monkeys.
