FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 4)

Oooh
You scored a point.
Bravo.

Did you enjoy every WC game?

The majority of the games, yes.

Did you enjoy every PL game?

No
But I will enjoy more if refs clamp down on the wrestling at corners/long throws, as at start of WC.

I didn’t enjoy a lot of WC matches because the quality was poor. Last nights match, whilst exciting at the end was dirge for the first half. Turgid stuff. Another poster may see it differently, but for me the Spain vs France match was of higher technical skills.

But everyone is in here…

Hand on heart, I have never seen a bad PL game.

At least the Argues seem to be taking it very seriously .
I wonder if Spain are taking notes and printing them on a bottle?

Tuchel deserves the sack just for persisting with this high-strung monkey.

I mean what kind of top coach can’t see that he’s a liability? Got rid of Slabhead but didn’t finish the job.

Oh I“ve played football alright. Even in Quilmes, one of the rougher neighbourhoods of Buenos Aires. You just made a laughable comparison. You have no idea the tension and pressure a young man in his position is feeling and no idea what they said to him.

You just seem quite bitter and resentful of Bellingham for reasons I can only imagine. Not much point in saying any more.

Your joking right?
The player I would have taken off at that point and first for England would have been Spence. If the game wasn’t fast he was hesitant and useless, the most passive of all. It stuck out like a sore thumb.
Anyway that’s how I saw it.
In anycase we’ve seen England do this during this world cup, even against Croatia, they fall back and Anderson joins the defensive line. It all goes to pot in midfield and takes a really big effort to get out of.
When Kane was dribbling the ball in the 18 yard box looking for himself up field I almost died from laughing. ā€˜Just hoof it into touch and reorganise’.
The number of times the 3central defenders were larking around together with Anderson were other hilarious moments it was like they were having a picnic.
There was no effort to push out which is exactly what we did last season. Reminds me of Manure when in Europe they got a 1 goal advantage and would try and hang on .

Seems strange all this hatred on Pickford, yesterday before the defeat , all the pundits were saying he was great and saying he was probably the best goalie they’ve ever had.

And because you lost in a semi final, he is now shite ?..as a welshman who knows wales is shite at football…seriously you lot have first world problems ffs , be gracious and grateful you got so far.

Ps pickford is the best English goalie ever , long may his success for england continue

Ray Clemence!
Why are you saying this on a Liverpool forum?

In real time I was really critical of Rogers for his decision on a counter attack late on. It was one of those ones where you’re waiting for the opening for a killer pass to emerge but the further he carried it the less chance there was for it. However, instead of recognizing that and taking a breath, taking the opportunity to get some rare possession in the Argentina half and relieve some of the building pressure, he just shot wildly, got it blocked and saw us immediately have to go back on defense. It was immature from Rogers, but Tuchel’s response was to immediately get that second round of subs on to add yet more defensive players while leaving on the lad whose bad decision making he seemed to be responding to with those subs.

It hadnt been a good 20 mins since the goal, but that was the moment where the game settled into the pattern where it looked certain England would lose despite being ahead with only 10 mins to go.

Does clemence have a better tournament record than pickford for england ?

No idea however he was a good goalkeeper better than Pickford.

Yes for club no doubt, but this being in the fifa world cup thread should have been self explanatory

How’s that?

I agree to be honest.

I“m not his biggest fan as a bloke or player but he did decently enough for us, considering his decent but not great ability Can hold his head high.
