FIFA World Cup 2026 - USA/Canada/Mexico (Part 4)

There’s nothing wrong with giving someone a friendly clip on the back of the head .
Nothing to get ourselves worked up about particularly as we don’t know why.
I mean scouring internet for stuff that annoys us is so petty, there’s enough of that in the politics threads.

The England loss is totally in Tuchel.

However this sort of behaviour is disgusting

I do hope, Spain (and Victor Munoz) will win the World Cup title, because the hype of Lionel Messi do annoy me.

I think its reasonable to question is Fernandez got away with a couple that should have got him bookings. But overall the balance of the game didn’t feel like England gave any less than they got. Its like the game in 86, everyone remember Maradona cheating, but what narrative ignores is that the saintly english side had spent the hour prior to that first goal kicking the living shit of Diego. There is an engish take on the second goal that they were too naive and pure to have hacked him down like a south american would have done if the roles were reversed. But they’d been doing that to him all game up until then and just found that one time where they couldnt get close enough to him to foul him.

Argentina got on with it and England feigned innocence and righteousness when they came up short. As they always do.

Ok
Heres something for you.

You’re not worth it, I’m worse to engage with arrogant little boys.

Butt out
No need for your unwanted interference

Fair enough!

Rhyming slang?

What did he say?

Something along the lines of “It was right down the middle of the fucking goal”

Pretty sure that’s the same sheet they held up in Port Stanley in 1982…there was no writing on it then though..

I agree they dominated the first half and then the incomprehensible tactic change to try and hold on to that 1:0 lead instead of learning from Egypt who also tried to hold on to their 2:0 lead (should have been 3:0 lead).
England had the upper hand by pressing them high if they had carried on with that at least until 80 minute and put on rashford and Saka then the Newcastle big lump.

Just saw what happened with Barco before the Bellingham slap.

He ran off the bench directly to all our players and celebrated inches from their faces. Almost punched O reilly in the face with his celebration.

I find that they were emboldened by the US ref who did nothing and sometimes totally ignoring what was going on and when an England player dared to retaliate he booked them. When that Argentinian player was blocking the GK he had a word with Pickford instead.

Sound advice to be fair.

I think that Spain will get no protection from the ref as FIFA are determined to give Messi a winning send off.

I should have waited for that video before writing about the US ref who now will get a reward by reffing the final.

This is important context. At face value Bellingham shouldn’t have slapped the back of his head. Footballers have to keep their emotions in check, and under a lot of provocation during the match - getting whacked in the back, hit in the back of the head, and tripped - he did ever so well to keep calm.

But I suppose everyone has a limit, and Jude reached his after the final whistle. If the celebrations were provocative, on the back of the way the match unfolded and losing a big game, his reaction is understandable.

Hopefully nothing will be made of it moving forward.

Context is always important. That’s why reacting to silly videos posted on the internet is stupid.
