Based on FIFA ranking there are probably 10 teams worse than them in this tournament.

So, as you all know, I’m boycotting this fascism washing charade, but, unfortunately, we’ve got Aussie guests arriving on Friday just in time for their match against the Evil Empire.
I’m going to have to break my own boycott before it’s even really got started!

Annoyingly, the games have actually been pretty decent so far.
The duet is Dan and Shay. Nice guys. I’ve seen them coaching on The Voice over here too.
My wife loves them. We saw them play at The Albert in Manchester, a bit randomly.
Thanks a lot, I’ll go look for them. ![]()
Odd angle emerging on the fact that Partey was denied entry to Canada. You cannot enter Canada if you have a criminal conviction elsewhere, or are facing trial in a matter that could lead to a criminal conviction. However, individuals in that circumstance can appeal to the Minister for a waiver. Those waivers are not that uncommon, though they usually come with some conditions. But for some reason, the Ghana team simply did not do that, instead simply assuming that the law would not be applied.
He has been allowed to enter the US, correct? They must have assumed that the US was the one that would cause problems.
This is an incredibly stupid admission, but I have been caught a couple of time forgetting that Canada is actually a different country and remembered only when my phone bill came in and I was hit with a HUGE bill because of several days of international roaming. I wonder if someone on team management just treated the trip to Toronto from their home base like an internal trip and forgot it was actually a futher international trip
I volunteered and ran a football team in Ghana back in 2010. Was based in a town on the outskirts of Accra called Weija.
A local became my assistant coach. He was applying to university in the USA at the time, he wanted to become a fashion designer.
The brand he created was called HITler. He had mockups of t-shirts and jackets with HITler all over it.
I told him they probably wouldn’t like that in America but he couldn’t understand why. He sent them off as applications. I still have him on facebook so I can say for sure he never ended up going to America.

Bad joke, apologies to our Canadian friends, as the loon in charge here really means it.
Funny story about Balogun. His story of being one of the US players who qualified for numerous countries was well known, but his story is pretty unusual. He was born in NYC, but neither he nor his family have any other connection to the US. He was simply born there because his Nigerian/English mother was prevented by the airline leaving the US while heavily pregnant. She was forced to stay and give birth to him there and she and baby Flo then went back to England as soon as was medically possible, where he lived the rest of his life until he signed for Reims.
He is a US Citizen only by birthright and under the rules the MAGA chuds are trying to get in would not have been eligible to play for them
Only found out a couple of days ago that Haaland qualified to play for England
Yeah I wasn’t aware of that but it’s obvious really considering where his dad played for the most of his career.
I would guess Kasper Schmeichal probably did as well.
