I kid you not…my old BMW 3 series at one point started turning the engine off

while I am driving on the road.

Computer chip problem which nobody could solve. So it had to be scrapped.

…as more and more prices rose into the four figures, Redditors decided to fight back, building free ticket-analysis tools and sharing them with everyone on r/WorldCup2026Tickets.

On April 18, Luke released SeatSidekick. Built in just five days with Claude Code, the website received 178,000 unique visitors and over a million pageviews within a month of launching. It scans the backend of FIFA’s ticketing website to provide near-live data of seat availability, sorted by price, presenting fans with a user-friendly interface. It also features trend data and alerts to inform seat-seekers of potential bargains.

Alongside posting the latest ticket releases from FIFA’s ongoing “last-minute” sales window, the subreddit has created back-channel marketplaces on WhatsApp. That means fans can circumvent FIFA’s 30 percent fee on the official resale.

I saw an analysis yesterday suggesting that FIFA are downlow releasing large sections of tickets to resale platforms at way under the listed price as a way recouping some money for inventory they cannot shift without having to reduce the official FIFA list price on their own official platform.

This chip has been in the ball for a little while. If you notice on the rare offside decision where you’re trying to determine if the attacker was behind the ball rather than the last defender, in the prem the VAR officials still have to draw the lines with the old manual system. That’s because the balls they use in the prem dont have the chip in them because it is Adidas patented technology so it can only be used in competitions that licence the Adiadas balls :see_no_evil_monkey:

I’m not sure if that really applies to everyone.

Modric’s last world cup. LOL. Croatia will be rolling him and Perisic out until 2034

I’m pretty sure it was Messi’s last World Cup last time.

Can someone tell me the value of these warm up games before the World Cup start? If players pick up injuries during those games the supporters won’t be very happy imo.

Fills a gap I guess.

I’m assuming they serve a similar purpose to a club preseason. They will also keep players’ fitness ticking over from the season end to the tournament start.

However, from the games I have seen, it’s not exactly full-throttle stuff.

Yup, no ones going massively risk a chance at the world cup, though some of the none world cup teams look like they are going through the motions…

Bring back the olden days were they travelled by ship and did fitness on the deck.

I don’t think it would help the premier leagues players, watching the Dutch playing Algeria the players lasted only 45 min and with the heat added they looked cooked. Losing to Algeria who only had 2 shots on target. Koemen looked ready to give up slumped on the bench. This was supposed to be a boosting win before they go to America.

I’ve just looked at the fixture list and times for the groups. Having just about come around to it what with my newfound love for football again since Saturday, I’ve immediately lost interest again.

Yep, they seem to think Scotland is somewhere in the Pacific Ocean.

The heat may have been the point. It will probably be hotter for their next friendly in New York. Their first two games are afternoon games in Texas - and for that matter, their evening game in Kansas City will be all but over by sunset.
